Need help to choose the right MB rod!!!

Post by Arrival » Mon May 28, 2007 5:27 pm

Hello,

i want to buy a Megabass rod, wich is versatile.

I want to use it for soft plastics and Crankbaits, like the Griffon, DD Cherry and Super Chidler and for Jerkbais like Squad minnows.

What are you thinking about

F3-610DGS AARON MARTENS LIMITED

F4・1/2-64XFti-SB JOTA ~ DorumStick ~

F4・1/2-68XFti Jabberwock Evolution

F5・1/2-68XFti SB DIABLO Limited 2005

An other question: What are you thinking about the Final Dimension and Fahrenheit from Shimano?

Maybe you can give some info, what are you using this sticks for?

Thanks

Arrival,

I don't know if it makes a difference to you but that F3-610 is a spinning rod. If you find any extra Diablo's with slant bridges, let me know, so far no luck for me trying to get one.

Hey Arrival, I use for the mentioned lures a MB Power Griffon...and I love it...
On the MB-Page its taper is rated as fast....but in comparison to the chaperral it seems to be quite regular.

In my opinion, it's ideal for the lures you want to fish with.

Tight lines,
Sandro

I'd go with the F4・1/2-68XFti Jabberwock Evolution!

I don't have a Diablo but many who do say that it excels at Texas Rigs and Jigs. I do have the Jabberwock FTi and can verify it is very good for jerkbaits and cranks 3/8 oz. and up.

Thanks for your replys.

My rod "must" have Slant-Bridge, if it is a baitcaster!!!!

Yes i know the F3-610DGS is a spinning rod, but is it a good choice for these kind of application?

My Jabberwock FTi has a slant-bridge handle. Sounding more and more like it's the rod you want. ;)

I don´t know, i thought a med. fast taper would work better, but correct me if a slow taber is better for casting and moving/retriving the bait.
I thought a slow rod is not so god to twitch the bait. The rod needs a sentitive tipsection and a powerfull backbone.

Isn´t that corect?
