panit came off my certate?

i just remofoved my certate from my rod and the some of the paint came off and ive heard about this problem before but i cant remember if it still can be fished with in saltwater. so can i still fish with the reel in saltwater?

I think you can. I damaged the paint cover of a Stella FB and I still fish with it in saltwater. I haven´t seen any trace of corrosion during the last year, but I wash it with a lot of freshwater after every fishing day.
