Three words. Steez and Loomis. I'll have another one not soon enough though. I have a 1984 z50 that I'm doing a resto/mod thing to.

Cool! I want to see pictures of it when its done!!
How do you like the steez setup vs. the loomis setup?
I have a steez setup and love it. I have the steez baitcaster with the steez 7'1 heavy action rod

It may be a while but sure I'll put some pics up. These little bike are to much fun for the money. I have a 04 gsxr 600 and I honestly think I put more miles on the pictured 50 than I did the gixxer.

I tried the steez 7'1" but it and me just didn't get along. It just didn't have a fast enough tip like the bcr854 has. While the steez was lighter and better looking I feel that the loomis is quite a bit more sensitive and accurate. I badly wanted to love the steez but it just didn't happen. So I made the drive to Springfield and got the loomis. Taking the steez back cut me. It cut me deep man, lol. Also the loomis can pitch a 5/16 jig fairly well. I wouldn't buy it to pitch a jig that light but in a pinch it will do it. With the steez I just couldn't getrdone. I plan on getting a bcr803 or 853 for that.
Here is a link to a unprofessional review I did.

I'm not knocking the steez because everyone has their own style. I do love my steez baitcaster though. I want 10 more of those!

I ride a ducati 998 for the streets. Its currently in the shop to get a few things done and the riding season is pretty much over in MN anyways so that didn't matter to me.

I tried the loomis rod but for me that didn't feel to well. I guess everyone has their taste! Nice article btw =)

Ya gotta love the ducs. :D I like the new one but it almost looks to japanese to be an italian bike. You've got a modern classic thats hard to beat. How are the roads where you are? I have to ride 1hr + just to get a decent road so I tend to lean more toward the wheelies rather than cornering. That crf50 is about the best teaching aid you can get for that.

yeah, the new duc is too japanese but its still a duc and its still nice.. I'd get one if I can afford to shell out 16k!!
Roads here aren't too bad. We do have to drive for a good hour just to get to any good/decent roads
