Re: Fishing Line Choices
I just don't like buying again and again after respooling. Thats why I like to buy in bulk. Well I would need about 950 yards on all of my reels just for surf fishing.
Re: Fishing Line Choices
I almost read it the same way you did at first SBS.
Jinz is looking for the LARGE SPOOL (1 pound spool of line).

Re: Fishing Line Choices
ha, S.B.S I thought I made it clear 1lb spool .
Yeah, you guys are correct about Trilene XL drying up after a few months. Though for the price and castability you can't complain. However, I don't like respooling 300 yards on non-level wind's often. Tuf Line and Power Pro would be a great choice for me, since they'll last a long time, but they create really expensive back lashes. So i went with the sufix dna, hopefully their abrasive resistance is above average, it's unpleasant feeling the line for small abraision wounds after every cast.
btw anybody else looking for sufix dna, eangler just ordered a whole batch.

Re: Fishing Line Choices
Hello,
Has anybody tried this red cajun line? If so what are your thoughts?
Company claim: "virtually invisible when it counts"..?? "increase your strikes by up to 60%"..?? I'm very skeptical probably just another attempt to catch the unsuspecting fisherman.

Re: Fishing Line Choices
I believe they claim that above water, the line is super high vis, and
when underwater, they are extremely low vis.
That would be very nice if that's the case. I'd buy it.
But how are the other characteristics? I'd like to know.

I think it is pretty cheap so how good could it be, even though price does not always mean better.

Re: Fishing Line Choices
From what I've heard, that line has a bit of memory. Strangely people have told me(more than 1) it does increase their strikes which is why their using it.
On the other hand I've heard 1 person saying that the line is the reason why their not catching any fish compared to their fishing partners( I think it was a school fishes were at the surface, when he was using the cajun line without getting a single bite compared to his friends which landed a few).

Re: Fishing Line Choices
For my spinning reels I'm using Yo-Zuri Hybrid 8# for bass and catfish, Yo-Zuri X-Tex Cobra 6# for bass drop-shot, and Yo-Zuri X-Tex Cobra 4# for trout. I really like the X-Tex for it's green color and strength...MamalaBay wrote:Anybody hear of the Yo Zuri Hybrid line, it acts like a flourocarbon but soft like mono. Seems like been catching more fish with it and a 15# with break at 25#'s. Great line.
Baitcasting 10# McCoy...

Re: Fishing Line Choices
timinaz, For spinning reels, im switching it all to power pro or tuf line. Flippin Pigs made a really good point, "why would I want to give the fish an advantage anyways".
If you watch those fishing channels on TV they have the pros using the 4#, 6# lines for bass, they edit out a lot of line snaps. Too much of them are trying to promote their products worms, crank baits. etc.

Re: Fishing Line Choices
Tru dat, but when a 5 lb carp took off on my 4# line it was a 20 min battle to get him in...and loads of fun. Also I was letting some kids at the lake reel in some of the carp I was catching this week end, to a 5 year old a 2# carp on light line and tackle is a monster...Jinz000 wrote:timinaz, For spinning reels, im switching it all to power pro or tuf line.
