Looking at the New BG reels

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

That is a beefstick. I would consider the 6500 with the 33lb drag. I have the Saltist, which is the Magsealed version. It's pretty amazing.

What are you targeting and what are you throwing?

The 4000 is a good do all size saltwater sized.

They are also coming out with the saltist back bay in a 4k. Which takes the ho hum/ meh saltist...and takes out the fancy bearings and give it a machined aluminum gear upgrade instead of the cast zinc.

I use a 4k saltiga for inshore nearshore stripers and bluefish using 30lb braid. Same size as a 5k 6k saragosa. Great for 7 to 10 medium duty rods.
