I dont know your unit but
I would say youtube Doug Vandberg- humminbird... i always take notes in my owners manual ( i have a color printed one in a binder in my boat) from his videos and I try different things out on the water.. I would imagine for other units you should just youtube it.

I would suggest going on Youtube and searching for vids from the manufacturer whose electronics you're using. Most of them have walkthroughs concerning set-up, interpretations, tweaks, etc. There's also quite a few videos from professional fisherman showing how they set up their graphs as well. I will second the comment about YouTube. There are a lot of good videos on there that will be helpful on fish finders.
