fish littets for catfish bait, help plz!
Hey guys im going to big river next week and i have some fish fillets that I wanna use to try and get a big catfish with. They are sadly not bloody so I am letting them shorta rot some so they will stink but wondering if I should marinate them in some garlic or something else for a few days?

Garlic wouldn't hurt anything. I wouldn't marinate them all in case the fish aren't digging that particular scent. I've also had good luck with anise for catfish.

put 'em in 1 gallon plastic baggies...toss the baggies out in the backyard anywhere the sun shines.
in about a week, you should be good to go.

Adding some kind of fat could help...like off of chicken, etc..if you have some.

Go to your local Butcher and ask if you can get some beef blood from him. You can use the blood to marinate the fillets before you let them age and get ripe. While your at it, buy some chicken and beef livers. You should be good to go with that assortment!

If you're trying for blues or channels, catch some shad and leave the slop at home.
If you're trying for flatheads catch some sunfish or whole live shad.

Where live sunfish, etc., are legal of course.
