What is the best lake in Kansas?
I haven't had the chance to really travel and fish a lot of lakes in Kansas. What lakes are the best in your opinion?
Anybody every hear of a reservoir called Bone Creek? Its located just north of Pittsburg, KS. So far this is the best lake I have fished.

I like Melvern. Your able to catch Smallmouth, largemouth, white, wiper, walleye, and especially crappie. Been there about 4 times and if one species isn't biting one of the others definitely are. Mainlake points, peagravel beds, and brushpiles in the fingers are the best spots. Some luck on dam for smallmouths and white bass. Biggest smallmouth came on a spinnerbait of a mainlake point right on a dropoff.

Sounds like a great place to fish. Have you ever fished Clinton Lake up by Lawrence? I've caught some nice smallmouths there as well as white bass.

I have a couple times. Did get into some smallmouth back in a cove using chatterbaits but lightning cut it short.

We have been known to fish a little, as Brett Chapman proved.

I went down there a couple years ago. The lake we went to was Lake Milford. Wipers, IMO are the best freshwater fighters you can consistently catch. If you wanna up your game go for the big cats!

I'm surprised Milford hasn't gotten more votes. A great lake.
