I would not consider using anything else but braid, and always with about a rod length of flourocarbon. The Flouro hardly shows up once it's in the water and also gives be a bit of shock absorber to nil stretch in the braid. We fish a lot of snaggy places in Australia, and braid is too easily cut by sharp things like barnacles. So flouro is the way to go. There are a number of good knots you can use, but generally I stay with an improved Albright or a back to back Uni on lighter braid/flouro. I reckon I can cast further and get better hook sets with braid.

X2 I think the only case is when you fish in very clear lake. In my case, braid actually work better without leader.bassdawg wrote:A lot of times i dont use a leader i just tie the jerkbait to the braid an do just as good .
