Blue-back herring color question
What are the color characteristics of a blue-back herring? Are they silver and blue or more silver green?

That's the Duane Raver Jr rendering. (Ster, if you paint that, you GOT to post it.) Anyway, if you go to google.images and search google images for 'blueback herring', you get all kinds of color, from silver to gold shades to green and blues and everything in between. I've got to think that it might make a difference whether you're in Florida, NC, Maine, whatever, and what the water content is.

I would agree with RiverRat due to the fact that up here, the backs of the shad are a deeper purple and there is a much more pronounced chartruse "line" below the purple before the remainder of the shad is silver.

Mine look like, well, a bright bait, rather than a fish! Gonna sand and repaint, try a little darker shade, I think.

Seems Google dropped support for Safari, I used to be able to hotlink them, anyone know of a tool that will trick sites into thinking it's IE or something?
