Black w/ small red flakes works for me.

It's a Senko...choose a color you like, and have had success with, and put a hook in it. :P

I use them as trailers and to stuff into other hollow body plastics. Where I fish, too many "bass gurus" throw them pretty much under all conditions (their loss, IMO, as they miss on lots of other bites - but good for those who can fish more than just a plastic hot dog). I personally refuse to be another guy who "just throws Senkos"

OK, I believe a little water color definition is in order here. ;)

When discussing water conditions is green considered the same color as stained water?

I use Watermelon w/ Red & Green Flakes or Green pumpkin w/ black flakes in all water conditions - clear, stained, and murky.

Plain old Black has worked very well for me in clear water, as well as very stained water. It can pay to experiment on any given day to see if they have a preference but hard to go wrong with green pumpkin as most have mentioned. I also like the blue pearl silver flake (basically a white senko) as a bait fish imitator.

My favorites for green water are watermelon with red/black flake and green pumpkin/black flake.

If the water is dirty/muddy green I would use black/blue flake.

I like pearl white silver flake. Or dark brown peppered. But I have a buddy who will only throw Yamamoto wackys black with silver flake. And He almost always will catch more bass in clear or stained, green water. The Yamamoto senkos sink a little faster but are not as durable as my Gander Mountain senkos. I can catch alot of fish on just one worm if it doesn't come off the O-ring.

Watermelon magic has worked wonders for me. That being said I have always done fairly well with any color.

I usually carry a bag of green pumpkin, a bag of watermelon magic, a bag of baby bass, a bag of junebug, and a bag of black with blue flake. These five colors pretty much cover any situation I might face.

I was paired with Gary Yamamoto as a non boater last year. He only used one color. Green pumpkin over watermelon. He was in the money and a class act.

a dark coloured senko would be a good choice.
