It's not the easiest knot but seems to be the best knot on braided line for me. I use the trilene knot for years and has been working great for catfish and carp. I have never had that knot failed on me while fishing for catfish and I've pulled in a couple 40+ pound flathead last year.

Palomar - very simple to tie and strong at the same time.

Palomar knot.

I started tying that knot after receiving a book on fishing knots. It is one of the knots that retains the highest strengths after it is tied. All knots technically weaken the line. The Palomar still tests out at 90-some percent of the original line strength.

I use the trilene knot double looped. I've never had one slip. Usually I use lighter line though 8/30 Power pro. I usually use a floro leader though so don't worry aboiut it. I've fished next to guys who don't use a leader and sometimes it doesn't make a difference. Other times it makes a big difference so I just use one all the time.

I've been using uni knots for braid for the last year. Never had one slip on me.

Thanks for the link....I've just bought two books on knots....Practical Fishing Knots, by Mark Sosin and Lefty Kreh, and Bob McNally's Complete Book of Fishermen's Knots, Fishing Rigs, And How to Use them.....Lots of info and different knots that I've never seen or heard of.....I like to keep them on the truck for good reading....I also keep some line and hooks/swivels to practice with when I'm sittin around and can't go anywhere.....

I've got my first spool of braid on order and gonna give it a try....I'm going with the Ande Premium and Ande Braid from http://www.tuppens.com . They have a complete line of Ande line.....I used Ande years ago and decided to try it again.....Thanks for the info.....Dwight

Check out the link- some surprising data concerning line strength and knots to use concerning braid. I use the double line uni for all my braid, seems to work pretty good. Straightens hooks before the line will break.

Yep, even with the experts, the palomar seems to win in all catagories I've checked.....You just can't beat simplicity, I guess...Dwight
