Chicago lakeshore salmon

Post by svslider » Thu Sep 27, 2007 10:19 pm

Ive been hitting up the harbors this past week for king salmon. I hit up Montrose harbor for my 1st ever Lake Michigan adventure, I started with the same glow spoons everyone was using but nobody was landing any so I switched to a green/chart/ red rattletrap. After hours of casting I finally got one :!: It put up a huge fight against me, my 2500 stradic, and kistler helium rod. In the end it was about a 5 lb king. Now Ive been fishing Waukegan harbor and got one 8-9 lb'er the other night and just got back from catching a 10 pounder, all on rattletraps. ;)

Hmm, I think I'm going to start hitting the harbors soon. I've been waiting to hear when the bite has been hot.
