Detroit River Basin

Post by SNAGMAN » Sat Apr 17, 2004 9:09 pm

Hello From Ontario.....WoW this string of warm weather days has really turned the Walleye/Pickeral on. Look for the blue water either on the US side or the Canadian side, depending on how the wind is blowing. Use plastics minnow imitators and vertical jig and its "FISH ON"!

Some sturgeon are being caught as well as Musky and SmallMouth Bass!
BUT remember these three species are not in season yet, so its a quick release if you catch one!

Be Safe & Good Fishing

Welcome Snagman - You really get a wide variety of fish at your
location huh? Pretty nice to be able to go after many species.

Howdy Fellas,

Yeppers a lot of different species to fish for..just have to keep on top the laws and open/close seasons in order to stay out of trouble.
It takes a New York Lawyer to interpret the regs up here some times lol!

Walleye fishing is really picking up now...a lot of the females have spawned and the males are pretty well milked out and are really hungry and feeding.
Warm weather is slowly bringing in the Smelt and nite netters are getting some in the inlets and bays.
Yellow Perch out on Lake St Clair is hitting good with minnow tipped jigs!
