Salmon opener south of pigeon point (april 3)

Post by seasicknes » Sun Apr 04, 2004 6:44 pm

Saturday (april 3)

Salmon open south of pigeon point today.
Met the group of coastsiders, bay sportsmen and my fellow fishinfo group.

Took my wife and the RV down to moss landing for the event. We have this big event for at least 4 to 5 years now. Big bbq and stuff (friday evening & saturday evening).
Then in the morning we all go out and try to catch fish.

This year I was invited to fish on my buddies boat.
His boat is a 25' seacat. We had a total of 6 people fishing on the boat saturday.

We had: Michael, Carole, Khanh, Katheren, Lucy and myself.

We left the dock at 6:30am and headed out 3 miles past the opening of the harbor. Then I put my rod down and started to help the girls with there rods.
Within minutes, My rod started to bounce and jerk. "I got a fish", then I noticed one of the girls rods was doing the same. "She got a fish". We had a double going. We netted them both and we put back down. Then it did it again. We had a total of 4 doubles, and 4 singles. Boat limits. We were done. Finished and back at the dock by 9:00 am

Total number of hits: 15
Brought in: 12 (6 limits of salmon)

Great opener again :D

Even some television news vans were there.
