Daz it shouldn't be a problem to see who is better. That is like you coming up here in my home waters to fish a tourny against me. I have never fished LM only smallies. But what the heck I qualified and everyone gets lucky once in awhile. At least I will be doing what I love to do FISH, and it will be a great trip to see what the CFT is all about.

Is that a partners tournament? You said you qualified. Is that from winning a certain event or possibly from you overall standings in a league?

Wayne,

What do you think of the G. Loomis bronzeback series of rods?

Reno I haven't tried the Bronzeback series yet. I sort of took a liking to the Shimano V-rod. They stopped making it this year and have upgraded the Compre and Clarus series rods. I would like to try a Airrus rod but they tend to be heavier actions than I prefer. Seems to be geared for LM and we only have Smallies.

Hi Flippin Pigs.

I qualified for it trough Bluenose Bassmasters which is the Nova Scotia chapter of OBF. There is a tourney at the Maq. in N.B. on the weekend of May 22,A two day. I have a tourny here that weekend with a local club that my brother and I fish, if it wasn't for that we could fish it and both learn new waters. 8) 8)

Somewhere in the posts, you were talking bout fishing Niagara. We have been there and done that and we had so much fun catching the smallies. We were drop shotting and catching doubles as fast as we could haul them in.. Awesome. Good luck. Also fished Erie. conniek

Wayne,

That's too bad about Shimano's choice to discontinue their v-rod line of rods.  I imagine since they have purchased G. Loomis, that the high end rods would only be made in their factory.  I always liked the extremely fast tapers on the v-rods and their nice copper colored aluminum butt.

I also enjoyed the tapers that were available, they suited my style of fishing. Going to try the new Compre im8 the might be a decent rod for the price?
