Lake Picachos in Mexico

Post by Rodster14 » Mon Feb 19, 2018 1:54 am

I have been to Angler's Inn in El Salto and it was the one of the most memorable events in my life. I have a chance to go back to Mexico with my son for another trip this year. I can go back to El Salto or the sister lake, Lake Picachos. I was hoping to hear some feedback from someone who has been to both.

I have been to El Salto 10+ times and Picachos two times. I have not been to Picachos since they built the pavilion though.

In my experience, Picachos was a numbers game. Most of the fish I caught were in the 2-3lb range with a 5-6 showing up from time to time. If you go I would focus on baits that can take a beating.

I would stay way during the hotter months as they do not get the afternoon wind El Salto does and you bake.
