I know how that feels.goldrod wrote:Yep

I was fighting a fish in 18' feet of water and I accidentally kicked over my buddies new NRX/Steez setup right off the boat, plop synora..... OOPS!
I was ready to take a swim, but it was winter, and it was too deep. I thought, no way the lady of the lake is claiming this
So, I took off two big treble hooks off a crank-bait, attached spit shots on each one, tided it to the end of my line and started dredging the bottom. After 20 mins of trying (pure luck ) snagged the third recoil guide of that damn NRX
It saved me $800
Sorry for your loss, Jorrick. My sincerest condolences.
Re: Is79 and rod overboard
I feel your pain. Did it twice in one season on the same lake, never got either one back

That sucks. I've managed to snag the last two rods that have went overboard (not my own) with a jointed spoon with a big treble on the back..
Somebody will snag it and have an awesome find.

yeah but such is life.. Im over it now.. hurt like a kick in the stomach
but now.. I'm looking for something else..I dont know what is an upgrade on that reel. and the rod was so perfect for what i used it for. I said it could have been worst many times today , so thank God it is not. I know someone one day will snag it.. i didnt even waypoint it..
and even a magnet would get it.. but not looking back.. Im looking forward now.. steez tws looking like a candidate even though i dont want it to..lol but maybe another antares.. time will tell .. now just got to be more careful and fish the rest.

Re: Is79 and rod overboard
Sorry to hear that. I have used the old metal fish stringers to get several rods back over the years. Open all of the snap hooks and drag it along. It is the best way I know of to try to recover one.

Re: Is79 and rod overboard
I know someone who recovered an outfit that went overboard. Use a big treble hook.
