Newbie Question about Seasons / what to use

Post by Congoman775 » Thu Nov 03, 2016 4:15 am

Hey guys, I fish in south west florida, and am relatively new to bass fishing. I fish a couple of large local ponds with relatively no underwater structure (man-made), just grass around the edges. I've had success, though inconsistent, pitching plastic frogs into grass, and even more inconsistent success pitching senkos into the same areas. Question is - what should I be throwing during different seasons? It seems like the Frogs work well over summer, and then everything dies out right around now and I can't catch big fish consistently again until next summer. Any advice?

I'm up in New Jersey, but I'll throw a jig year round. It produces from ice-out in spring until the lakes lock back down in early winter. The only thing I normally adjust is the trailer. I'll use a more active trailer during the warmer months (Water above 65) and a more natural trailer when the water's colder than that.
