Plastics

Post by Scattergun2570 » Sat Apr 09, 2016 5:22 pm

Why is it that people don't throw plastics at this time of year? Or do they?? Why wouldn't a tube, or Power Worm, etc work? Just curious.

They've always worked just fine for me. Some will say--truthfully--that plastic gets stiffer in colder water. While that's true, it isn't necessarily a bad thing: in general, you're looking for presentations with more subtle movement in the cold water anyway. A Rage craw might not be the best choice in 40 degree water, but that doesn't mean a more subtle action is generally going to get bit more because cold-blooded creatures move more slowly in the cold water.
