I am curious about what type of weights people are using for different water bottoms...

I didn't put brass or lead bullet weights as choices because of limited space in the subject line.

I have heard that brass bullet weights are excellent when the bottom is mud; but they tend to hang up in rocky bottoms. I have also heard that egg types are preferred with the rocky bottoms because they hang up less.

Some people prefer the Mojo weights, but they are thinner and longer, and tend to stir up less on the bottom.

I would appreciate your thoughts on these points, and other excellent information that you may provide.

Its brass and glass for my carolina rigs, not sure if the clicking draws more fish than other weights but it works in my head

Switched to mojo's a while back, around a year or so, I guess. They work great! Come through rocks, brush piles and trees here better than anything I've tried, and give very good feedback. I throw C-rigs a LOT, and these have for sure become my go-to weights.

IMO, can't go wrong with mojo. The theory behind mojo is that they are so long that they don't fall in between the cracks between rocks as easily as a shorter weight. For me, they are the thinnest so they slip through grass the best too. Not too many trees in WI where I fish.

I get hung up a lot less using a mojo weight. Egg sinkers have always given me issues.

For sandy, muddy, or weedy bottoms I usually use bullet shaped weights on Carolina rigs, and haven't had any problems.

When I fish saltwater, however, there are usually a lot of oyster beds, and the egg shaped weights seem to hang up less.

I prefer the mojo. I still get hung up, but not as much compared to the other choices.

Mojos are a go to now for me when i throw Carolina Rigs..

Glass beads will chip and cut line so switch to plastic beads. Plus they are che@per
