Re: new Tatula CT
I'm sitting here right now with a new Curado and Citica and seven Daiwas. The one thing keeping me from returning the Shimanos and getting Tatulas is the width of the Tatula. I have smaller hands and the reason I got the Shimanos was that they palm better than the Tatula. Now I know I will be return...

Re: Shimano rod warranty?
That's what I saw in their site. Any idea when they did away with the lifetime warranty. Just curious.

Shimano rod warranty?
I have been out of the loop for a while but the time I bought a Shimano rod it came with a lifetime over the counter replacement warranty. However, recently I was looking at one of their rods at my local Academy and the tags didn't mention any type of warranty. when I went to the Shimano website all...

Re: Filling a baitcast reel
Well so far I have had good luck with about 1/8" from the bevel. Casting distance is the same and I can't tell any difference in ipt. Plus the line is easier to keep under control.

Re: Filling a baitcast reel
I just went and peeled some line off of my reels. Now they are all down to about an eighth of an inch below the spool bevel. I'll try them for a trip or two and see how it goes. It would be nice if this worked out. With the cost of line nowadays it would help to be able to use less and get away with...

Filling a baitcast reel
This is a topic that I have not been able to "really" answer. A buddy asked me this the other day and I couldn't give him a good solid answer. We are not newbies either. Been on the water for over 30 years. I have always filled my reels up to the point where I couldn't see the spool. My partner alwa...

Re: Ironsilk...Opinions?
Whew. It appears I'm not crazy after all. That stuff felt crazy stretchy to me.

Re: Ironsilk...Opinions?
True. And also one thing that gets overlooked (I'm guilty of this one myself) when comparing lines is the rod we're using. It's difficult to gauge the stretch of a line unless you do it by some other means than actually fishing. I've gone through so many lines that I finally got tired of wasting mon...

Re: Ironsilk...Opinions?
That would be nice. But I'll fall on the axe here. Just because I think it is super stretchy doesn't mean it is. Someone else may feel differently. I have been using a lot of Vicious fluorocarbon and braid. Compared to those most anything would feel stretchy.

Re: Ironsilk...Opinions?
To each his own I suppose. I had to throw it away due to the stretch. Companies will say anything to get you to buy their product. Then the placebo affect sets in. Not saying that's what happened to you. I just had a completely different experience. There is a reason that once the local stores final...

Re: Spool Station?
Don't get the new one from Berkley. It's terrible. The line tends to get wrapped around the tension arm causing it to get knotted up. I went back to the old styler with the two tensioners. The problem is that my tensioners are worn out so I need to come up with some way to rig it.

H2O Xpress monofilament?
Does anyone know who makes this line for Academy? The label says made in Korea but I don't know of many lines made in Korea. Sufix lines maybe? The line is actually really good line. I use it quite a bit but I've always wondered who makes it.

Re: Ironsilk...Opinions?
I can say that the new Iron Silk is very stretchy. That said, stretchiness is kind of relative to the person making the claim. If someone has been using Trilene XL primarily then Iron Silk might be a low stretch line. However, if someone is used to something like Spiderwire XXX Super Mono or even br...
