X2 good baits for the money. I have a problem with the rear treble getting hooked on the tail but it swims great otherwise.

Braid for hard jerkbaits?
Anyone use braided line for hard jerkbaits? No leader. Just wondering if it would be easier to twitch and save some money in the process!
Thanks!
Thanks!

I wish rod companies would get the.....
power and action terminology in line with their rods If I am not mistaken, power relates to the body of the rod and action refers to the tip? Am I missing something? What say you?
Thanks

12 functional and a few that are just sitting - my problem is narrowing down which ones to put on the deck since I like them all.

Re: g loomis NRX worth $450+?
Back to the original question as to whether it would be a good all-purpose rod - I believe that the NRX 853C would be a good all purpose rod. I bought one for football jigs and the tip was a little soft for my taste. I got the 854C and it was perfect for 3/4 oz and lighter jigs. I believe that the 8...

Re: Curado 50E suitable for spinnerbaits and crankbaits?
I threw double willow 3/8 oz Booyah SB with a Curado 201E7 and the reel struggled. I can't see the 50E being better. I've thrown KVD 1.5 with the Core 101 which is 6.2 and that was fine but felt slightly under gunned with the 2.5. For me, 7.1 reels are not made for SB beyond 1/4 and as for medium c...

Shimano Scorpion 1000 paired with a 7 foot rod or better. The action of the rod needs to be right though.

I have some Lucky Craft Bevy Shads that are great. You may want to give those a try.

Re: Curado 50E suitable for spinnerbaits and crankbaits?
The 50e is the perfect ratio for spinnerbaits in my opinion. I have mine spooled with 30 lb PowerPro and matched with a Skeet Reese spinnerbait rod.
The braid is great for spinnerbaits as long as it does not get tangled in the blades of your bait on the hookset.

Re: Zoom Hicky and Z-Flat
These baits looks very similar except for the lip. Can someone tell me how they compare to each other? Thanks. Lou The bill makes all the difference. The Z-Flat is a coffin bill and the Hicky is a round bill. The Coffin bill will deflect better in cover and the Hicky is better for clear, cold open ...
