Re: Fishing Drones Have Arrived: The Ludicrous PowerRay, a Fishing Drone that Uses Sonar and 4K Video to Catch Fish
It's like SI on steroids. The potential to explore underwater is amazing. I wouldnt use it to actually fish with, but to be able to go down and actually scout the environment the fish are living in is extremely beneficial. No different that snorkeling or diving and doing the same, although you dont...

Re: Shimano's JDM-esque Zodias 172MH
I concur. While I can't confirm the excess gloss coating on the blank dampens the feel of the rod, I can only imagine it does just that. I also think Shimano could have dropped a size on the guide frames. It would look sick if the blank was raw / unfinished.

Re: The Search For One : Phenix's Maxim Series 7'3" MH
Well I reserve the right to change my mind. On the custom tip, I've been most impressed with Phenix blanks. Tapers and actions are spot up my alley. I'm hoping they offer the Maxim blanks to custom Rod builders. My local Sportsmans warehouse is starting to stock Phenix. While I'm not a huge fan of t...

Re: Daiwa's Beloved Alphas Gets Another Variant - SV
Something else I noticed in the specifications is that it is listed as having 2 bearings per knob. My reel had no installed bearings in the knobs and came with 4 bushings. Anyone find anything different? Yep. My Alphas had 1 bearing 1 bushing per knob, where as my SS had 2 bushings per knob. The TT...

I didn't even realize the level wind moved when pulling line till I read this. I've been enjoying casting damn near everything with this I guess I never paid attention. I think the review came so fast before they get bogged down with Icast, and this little gem couldn't wait.

Agreed. The Muse series is rather intriguing.JWR075 wrote:After handling the Zodias at the Classic, it gets my vote. But waiting on the new 13 Fishing line of rods that should come in a slightly under this price. Wonder how the Zodias is versus the Tatuala?

Interesting read. All the Phenix rod reviews state the builds are straight and clean, but I read more than a handful of posts from members suggesting quite the opposite. I'm not curious enough to find out. Sounds like a very fair stick at the price point. Can't say the same regarding the appearance.

So is this just the beginning? Will they include any current lines, or will they all be geared for the US moving forward?

Re: Not Just for Chuckin' Blades: The Megabass Orochi F5-610
This rod will be my 1st MB purchase for sure. I still have not found one shorter stick that I felt could handle spinnerbaits, flat and squarebills, lipless cranks, and chatterbaits well. I'm really, really hoping this is the ticket. I wasn't expecting this to be one of the 1st rods reviewed, but I'm...
