Curado 100dsv in the salt?

I'm thinking about buying a Curado 100dsv to use for inshore saltwater fishing in South Louisiana. Has anyone used this reel in the salt? I already own a Curado 200DHSV, a Curado 300dsv and the Revo STX and I love all of them, but I'm looking for a lighter reel to mainly cast plastics on 1/4 oz jigh...

Re: Shimano Curado 300

I own the Curado 300 and I really like it. It has the line capacity of the round type reels, but it's low profile so the ergonomics are better IMO. I've cast plastics on 1/4 oz jigheads for redfish and it worked well. The drag is very strong and smooth.

Re: Abu Garcia® REVO™ STX Casting Reel.v.curado

I bought a Revo STX high speed reel and paired it with a Falcon Coastal 7' medium action rod and was able to use it for the first time today. I also own a Curado 200dhsv and a Curado 300dsv. I fish inshore saltwater in South Louisiana and it was really windy today, so I wasn't brave enough to cast a...

Re: Cal / Zander / JIP - Curado 300 Drag

I was able to catch a few redfish up to 8lbs on the Curado 300 yesterday. I was casting large spinnerbaits in shallow ponds. The 300 casts very well. These reds were no match for the drag on the 300. I can't wait to head to the coast and try to test the reel on bigger fish.

Re: Shimano Curado vs. Citica

I haven't measured them, but the 300 is designed for heavier lures and bigger fish. The 300 reel is a little larger and heavier than the 200 and it has a much deeper spool which holds a good bit more line than the 200.

Re: hevavy baitcaster

I'm not sure what species you are fishing for, but take a look at the new Shimano Curado 300DSV. It has 15lbs of drag and holds a lot of line for a low profile baitcaster. I recently purchased one and used it yesterday to cast spinnerbaits to redfish. It casts just like a bass style reel, but it is ...

Re: Shimano Curado vs. Citica

I bought a Curado 300 last week and had a chance to fish with it Saturday. I was fishing for redfish in the marshes of South Louisiana. I also own a Curado 200DHSV and the 300 is a little larger and a little heavier, but the difference is not that noticeable. The 300 holds a lot of line for a low pr...

Re: Shimano Curado vs. Citica

I own both the Curado 200DHSV and the Citica 200D. I like both reels and I think they are both worth the price. I fish mainly inshore saltwater for speckled trout and redfish. I have caught bull reds over 20 lbs on both of these reels with no problems. They both cast well and are smooth, but the Cur...

Re: Need help with reel choices....

The new Shimano Curado 300 sounds like it may fit your needs. They have some info on this site in the ICAST reel write up on the home page. The Shimano websight also has some details. I'm planning to get one to use for redfish in South Louisiana.

Great job guys and thank you for all of the info. Did Shimano state when the Curado 300 would be available?

Almost immeditely. These reels should be popping up in stores next month already.

Re: Question for Cal / Zander re Curado 300

Any idea of a release date? How about MSRP? This reel sounds like exactly what I'm in the market for, but I'm not sure how long I'm willing to wait for a new reel.

PS Great job on the quick posting of articles and the wealth of information provided.

Re: Anyone have problems with the Curado 200 D...

The one I purchased had a small white sticker on the bottom of the box which means that it does not have the line guide issue. There was a topic on the forum a couple of weeks ago where a spokesman from Shimano explained exactly what to look for on the box to determine if your reel may have the prob...
