Re: hrmm... here comes the new Stella...
Is anyone else disappointed? I kept hearing 'new '07 Stella', not 'revamped current model '07 Stella' .

Re: Alpha F's Vs Scorpion 1000MG VS Antares AR
Zest has a valid point, and choosing one reel over the other would depend on the consumers emphasis on weight or buttery smooth power. I prefer buttery smooth power for spinnerbaits and crankbaits, but select a featherweight for my jig and worm fishing. I also agree with the Antares crowd...it is in...

Re: What is your favorite worm/jig rod for reels in the 8oz
My favorite rod is my BCR893 GLX 'Senko' rod, and it would balance out an 8oz reel nicely. You don't realize how much that extra few inches will improve your pitching distance and accuracy...it is my go-to plastic rod.

Re: Your favorite Shallow Cranking Combo
but this setup the rod will load enough to make perfect casts and has plenty of backbone to move large fish from heavy cover. I'm pretty surprised by that comment...my 843 is a buggy whip, but works well for baits 3/8oz and under. Hooking a fish in heavy cover with my 843 would resemble the Ugly st...

Re: Your favorite Shallow Cranking Combo
I've been using my CBR 845 paired with a Pixy and 12lb CXX for BDS 1's and RC 1.5's, but move to one of my MBR 843's paired with an Alphas and 15lb CXX for B2's and RC 2.5's. A CBR 847 is on my purchase list.

Re: kistler technique specific graphite plus rods
I'll add that I hate to blast a rod when a few others may own it and be satisfied...I don't like 'dogging' someone's rod, but I feel honest opinions should be given to help make a proper decision.

Re: kistler technique specific graphite plus rods
I owned two for around a month, and didn't care for them at all. The blanks didn't feel crisp and responsive, and the guides were less than desireable. I think you can do better for $130, namely the Crucial or Powell.

Re: Suggestions for JDM rod?
I can't imagine pitchin'/flippin' with a 6'8" or 6'9" rod, but that is just me. I have mostly 7' rods, and purchased a 7'5" GLX Senko rod, and the difference in how far I can pitch with the 7'5" versus the 7' is incredible. Definitely go 7' minimal.

Re: Rod for Pixy
I had my airy red pixy matted to a BCR852 Loomis, and it was a shakey head, slider, trickworm, and small tube machine!

Re: daiwa steez STZ 601MFBA ????'s
That rod sounds superb for jerkbaits, and I am in need of a jerkbait casting rod. I held the 6'3" MH at Cabelas, and it also was paper-light and crisp, but too fast for jerkbaits and I passed.

Re: X-mas Trio Came alil Late.***Updated ZPI Pics***
You will be amazed at how many different techniques you can use the pixies for, from pitching to crankin'...they are just such a pleasure to use. Mine reside currently on my Loomis CBR 843 and 845's, spooled with 8lb and 10lb CXX respectively. I absolutely love them for small to medium crankbaits, b...

Re: Suggestions for JDM rod?
I am definitely no expert, as I just purchased my first JDM rod. However, I have shopped them fairly extensively, familiarizing myself with several of the Evergreen and Megabass rods . I had decided not to go JDM until the Steez was released in the States, mainly due to warranty. The Steez relieved ...

Re: Picked up a new reel/rod combo today!
The Quantum rods use Lamiglas blanks, and they are very good. They have used Lamiglas blanks for over a decade, and the rods I fished with in high school (12 years ago) were Quantum Tour Edition rods, and they stated right on the blank that they were built on Lamiglas HSX blanks. Congrats on the new...
