Re: Curado E vs Curado I
Performance wise, once I learned the new braking system, I don't feel one excels more than the other.

Re: Too many choices.... which shimano?
The Scorpion is new so it will be getting a lot more hype right now. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Chronarch CI4+ either though. I think it really depends on what you are planning on using this thing for. IMO, The CI4+ would tend to cover a few more techniques just because of the added ...

Re: 15 Metanium DC
I've got all three (met XG, Met HG DC, CQ100) and love them all. You won't be dissapointed in any of them. I think it will come down to what you want to use the reel for. The CQ can be used for anything but I'm sure a few of the techniques will be better served with an LP reel. I use CQ for cranks, ...

Re: Antares vs Conquest vs Metanium
I was talking about the 12. I never said that it wasn't smoother but rather you wouldnt notice much of a difference. And the reel weighs in at 7.9 ounces. That's heavy these days no matter how you look at it. The biggest thing for me though was how it palms. I was ready and willing to try it. But it...

Re: 13 Met vs. Chronarch CI4 Revisited
I own both reels and am really impressed with both. I originally thought I would never buy another Met again because the price difference didn't justify the performance. Well, after using both for a solid year, I bought another Met. It was a DC. The CI4 Chronarch is a great reel but I prefer the sol...

Re: Antares vs Conquest vs Metanium
I was considering grabbing an Antares as my local shop cant sell the ones he has and offered a good deal on one. IMO, It is bulky, damn heavy and doesn't palm nearly as nice as the Metanium or even the CQ for that matter ( I've got a 100). I doubt you will see much difference in smoothness over the ...

I was looking at the info on JPangler.com and it does in fact seem to have silent tune along with the magnumlite spool and re designed SVS infinity braking system.

Re: Metanium MGL release date?
My guess is it will either be released her at ICAST if at all this year.
If it doesn't show up here for ICAST, it will more than likely come over here but probably won't be released until next year.
This is just my opinion though. It's always fun to speculate?
LOL.

Re: if you could have only 2 rod+reels. which would it be?
I would just give up fishing...
With the gear I have, I would keep the DX745 and Met XG and XX Jerkbait special with a Chreonarch CI4+. I could do 90% of my fishing with these two combo.
It wouldn't be the prettiest or anywhere near the best options, but it would work.

Re: Conquest uses
I use my CQ100 for cranks but really, the reel palms just as good as my Curado I and depending on the gear ratio you choose, this reel can do whatever you want it to. I was a little concerned how much line it would hold but that quickly disappeared. I would buy another in a heartbeat. As for cleanin...

Re: line challenges with 13Met
Are you using line conditioner? I ask because when I originally used flouro (sniper) on my Met XG, it was uncontrollable. I went through a spool of that stuff very quickly and gave up on flouro for the year. The next year, I spooled it up with flouro again and used real magic now and it makes a worl...

Re: Why Daiwa/Shimano/... don't use ceramic bearings?
I have a little different approach to this. I would imagine that both Shimano and Daiwa don't use ceramic bearings for the reasons stated already. 1, being cost and 2, being noise. Yes 20% sounds like a lot and it may very well be the case but we don't have all of the variables. Also, a lot of peopl...

My old Pflueger Patriarch XT baitcast reel. It was essentially Pfluegers version of the Premier. Great reel but no one ever talks about Pflueger. LOL.

Re: Shimano Bantam rod
CI4+ reel seats aren't really anything new. They can be found on many of the newer releases both here and in the JDM.
The Zodia, Expride and Poison Adrena all have CI4/CI4+ reel seats. I think they have been out long enough to not worry about it.

Re: chronarch e series
The price difference between the Curado I and the Chronarch E was minimal. I view the Curado I as the replacement even though the E was not discontinued when the new Curado was introduced.
I doubt you will see another Chronarch reel come out until they redesigned the CI4+.
