Re: 12 Exsence feel on retrieve

It could be the spring washers have compressed and is causing the drag star to physically touch the side plate. The drag washers can compress slightly as well. It's tough to get an accurate measurement because the material is a little soft. So you have two possibilities that are most common. I would...

You have no idea. There are so many other things that I could literally write a book.

Re: Shimano Core50/Curado 50/ Chronarch 50 Drive shaft bearing size.

I will agree most use this size, but there are plenty of models that use a smaller size, or bearings of different dimensions. Always double check the schematic first. The 105BV bearing to add a little more info, is a high corrosion resistant bearing but with composite shields to reduce weight. They ...

Re: Stella SW 14000 XG (2019) servicing lubes

On the schematic it is listed RD19533. It shows the seal and the rotor ring as one part number. We suggest using plastic tweezers to handle both of these parts.

You will need to contact the Shimano UK office. I am not sure about service in Europe. I work for Shimano North America.

Re: Antares DC 21 grease

I just use a q-tip and apply it to the rollers in a circular motion around the inside of the bearing. I found it applies evenly to the rollers and rolls the pins as I am turning the q-tip. Hopefully that makes sense. I turn the q-tip in the same direction that the handle will turn. Clockwise for RH ...

Re: Preventing Spool Corrosion on Stella Reels

Unfortunately it is difficult to remove all of the moisture from the line and corrosion will happen when left on the reel. It's just the nature of using reels in saltwater. It will happen with mono or braided line as it traps the moisture. Salmo suggested ceramic paint. It will help for sure, but it...

Re: Antares DC 21 grease

I use our ACE 2 grease and mix it with our Bantam oil. I couldn't give you an exact ratio as I mix it by feel so to speak. I use a light amount which keeps the bearing from corroding and it does not cause slip issues. One of the guys that used to work here when I started taught me and I have been us...

Re: Antares DC 21 grease

We have been leaning more towards Permalub for the A/R bearings. The NLTS is close in performance, but really either will work for that application. I mix my own grease for the application, but it's a personal preference thing for me. I have been doing it for over 20 years now with no issues, but it...

Re: New NRX / GLX

For clarification the warranty covers the rod against material and manufacturer defects. It does not cover things like wear and tear or abuse. It is not a "no questions asked" type of warranty. The G.Loomis rods are still covered by the lifetime warranty. That has not changed. Just know the differen...

Send me a PM with your name and address and I will get one out to you in the mail. We had a few in our repair parts drawer and we can part with one to help you out. I assume you are in the US. If you are somewhere else it will make it a little more difficult for me to ship it to you.

Re: Antares DC 21 grease

ACE0 grease for the drag washer. The reel oil spray is just an aerosol version of Bantam oil they offer overseas. We do not have it in the US. I guess there are restrictions for bringing over the aerosol products to the US. The spray grease is more for spinning reels. I suppose it would work for oth...

Re: Antares DC 21 grease

Here is what we recommend: Ball bearing- Bantam Oil (one drop per bearing if needed) Break pipe- No break pipe on DC reels as they use a DC unit Spool shaft- Dry and clean no lubricant Inner bearing of handle- Permalube Worm shaft- Bantam Oil or very light application of ACE 0 with added bantam oil ...

Re: Exsence BB

BB means Brood Brother. It's a cost down version of the regular Exsence. It has an XT-7 material body vs. Magnesium for the regular Exsence. That is the most basic explanation I can give you. The concept was similar performance at a lower cost due to the material difference for the body. XT-7 is a c...
