Re: What trailer to use on a brown jig

In my experience you do not want to match trailers to skirts. Contrast is a good thing. strike king rage craws for a aggressive thump clear water cant beat the blue craw and cali craw semi dirty okee craw dirty black blue and black neon strike king rage bug same colors as above just a little less a...

Tungsten jigs?

What experience does everyone have with tungsten jig heads, particularly football style jigs? I have switched all of my bullet weights to tungsten due to sensitivity and compact size. Do the tungsten head jigs offer the same advancements?

Looked like Jason Christie was using a big paddle tail type swim bait as a trailer for a one ounce spinner bait this week at the classic

Good choice, but you couldn't have gone wrong either way!

You will love that reel. Crazy light and will cast a mile.

Re: So which is the better reel?

I don't care much for the CI4 after seeing it literally break between the mounting arm and the reel body. Granted Shimano took care of it, but still lost some confidence in the material.

Re: Dobyns DX vs G. Loomis NRX vs Kistler KLX

Out of those three the NRX would be my preference.

In that price range you could also throw a custom Phenix K2 in the mix as well. They have a 684 blank you could have built exactly how you want it and I would put the K2 sensitivity right up there.

Re: G Loomis NRX 802c

Too bad, that was a heck of a deal. That 802 is a great rod, I use it a lot for jerkbaits, the sensitivity pays off when working that bait painfully slow.

I believe the NRX 893 was made for Senkos... Soft enough tip to load up and crazy sensitivity.

Re: Just Ordered an NRX 842S! What Reel?

The Stella is the best, but I would work my way down the following list until I found the one I could afford.
Stella
Twin power
Sustain
Stradic CI4+
Stradic

You won't regret deciding to buy any of them! Enjoy!

My thoughts on the Phenix K2 714

I have been going back and forth on getting one of the new production Phenix K2s and finally decided to pull the trigger. I purchased the 7'1" MH (714) and put my Shimano Aldebaran on it. I went with this rod with anticipation of using it for light bottom contact applications up to 3/8 or so. My fav...

Re: Phenix K2 715C: Aldebaran 50HG or 13 Metanium HG/XG

I have both and love both! The Aldebaran is the lightest reel I have ever used and feels amazing on a light weight rod and I find myself reaching for it more than any other. That being said, the met just feels like a more solid reel and I use it for any heavier applications. While I don't have the P...
