2500 for spinning. Helps with line management issues, for me.

Dedicated tube rig.
I want to put together a spinning rod and reel for 1/8 oz.- 2 3/4 in. tubes. Primarily fishing for smallmouth that range from small up to around 6 lb. This rod will have a tube tied on 24/7. Price range for both rod and reel, about $300.00 plus or minus.

I am a short rod guy. Just ask my girlfriend. Wait, that did not come out right. 6'3" to 6'8" is my sweet spot.

Re: Which is more important - the reel or the rod?
Fishing a jig or soft plastic I can catch more fish with a Nrx with a Zebco on it than with an UglyStik and a Steez. But what if the Steez had braid spooled on it? Would the fish count be a lot closer? You are using the NRX as the sensitivity factor and I am using the braid as the transmission of t...

Re: Which is more important - the reel or the rod?
I think the line you're using makes more of a difference in conjunction with the rod. If you're using braid or a high quality fluoro with a St Croix Premier, it's going to feel every bit as good as a $300 rod using cheap mono. As some others have mentioned, it’s all a system working together. I tot...

Let's say I buy one and in a few months I decide to sell it here in the classifieds because it just did not fit the application that I wanted it for. Do I limit my buying pool?

Re: New CI4+ handle knobs
F&F Just to be clear. Please confirm that BNT4220 is just the knob and not the entire handle. Also if I order it does it come with its own screw or do I reuse the one from the original EVA knob. Sorry about asking again but I have not done this before and want to get it right before I place an orde...

Re: New CI4+ handle knobs
The caps do not have to be red, just sort of match the CI4 2500F reel if possible. Something in black maybe. In fact, black would be my first choice and red would be my second. Let me know if you have some. I will shoot you my address. Thanks for your help.

Re: Someone do an Official CI4 REVIEW!
You can have it redelivered the next day if you call the PO. But someone will have to be there to sign for the package. If not you will have to go to the PO with notice in hand and pick your package up.

Re: Stick length
You know...I started off using shorter rods like 6'8" and 7', and then people kept telling me I needed to go with longer rods; so I started buying 7'3", 7'6", 8'ers...but I find myself wanting to go back down to 7' rods, and I'm even considering buying 6'6" rods now. I think for punching, flipping,...
