Re: Megabass Triza : The True Measure of a Travel Stick?

I been looking into the lighter BFS versions. Your review seems to be pushing me closer to getting one

Re: The Jackall Dunkle Swimbait Offers Anglers More Rigging Options

I like how the hooks can rotate freely to reduce fish unhooking themselves.

Re: Cranking It Up with PH Custom Lures's Herren's 2.0 Squarebill

I used to think there isn't a big difference until about 5 years ago when I really started using squarebills in shallow water. The way balsa deflects and floats is definitely different than plastic lures. Not better in every situation but, for most scenarios, I prefer them

Re: MONSTERBASS Launches a Mean Popper, the Mad Max

Poppers are so overlooked. I did pretty well the other day with a popper. Great for drawing deep topwater bites and cold days

Re: Rat Rumble : JSJ Baits's Pack Rat (Recoil Edition)

All these rats... [-( Someone always complains... whether it's about the high end gear concentration, too much affordable gear, enough with the finesse, why is price a category on the evaluation matrix, too picky about certain aspects of a product. The truth is we write about it all. Your focus is ...

I been on the finesse bite too much to appreciate big topwater bites. I usually either finesse or power (punch, deep crank, buzzbait).

Re: The Thoroughly Capable, If Somewhat Uninspiring New Alphas

Paying $300 for this reel, nope. Japan Tackle has it for $239 (four day delivery to the Bay area, including the weekend) and since that link is in the review, not sure about the $300 statement. A 10g (slightly less than 3/8 oz.) casting plug was 'flying' 35-40 yards and 19g (slightly over 5/8 oz.) ...

Re: SpiderWire's 4-Strand Braid Offers a Stealthy Option for Fishing Through Vegetation

I personally had bad experience with Spiderwire but, good article. Just curious, but bad experience in what way? I fish about half a dozen new lines every year for review and most hold up well. The majority of disappointing aspects primarily center around ratings and published diameters. I was unim...

I use 4 carrier with reels I know I will be sawing weeds. My punch setup doesnt because I was trying out that Seaguar Flippin Braid.

This goes that everything has its pros and cons....even mono.

Re: Cranking It Up with Sunline's Crank FC

I still have stocks of when Sunline called it Reaction FC (prior formula). Mine has a gray hue to it. I really like it. Handles well and has stretch you need and still feel the lure like in the review.

Re: St. Croix's 8'8" Legend Glass : What's the Dealio?

I too found my Legend Glass custom did better with braid. I was kinda underwhelmed with using FC and braid helped.

I really like it though, I feel the rod should be abke to handle 20+ft cranks a little better.

Re: Time to Spool Them Up and String Them Out... Which Reel Is Best (part two)?

Wonder how the Zillion SV would stack up against the Chronarch? I feel the Zillion noticeably better than the Tatula SV. The Zillion is also closer to the Chronarch price too. It would then be in a higher price point thanow the other way reels so...I'd consider this a win for Daiwa, with being tied ...

Re: [kroe-nark] : Casting Reel ... 1. must have

Daiwa no longer sends TT reels for free, while Shimano still do. Factors a lot into whether they can review something or not. Shimano will usually send us something if we ask. However, we did not ask them to send the Chronarch MGL. I've asked Daiwa to send a Zillion SV TWS, but received no response...
