Thank you for the response, I am #17 but they emailed me to say it's ready to ship! Hopefully I get it next week.

Mind telling me what # you were on the preorder list? I think they got the 6.3 in couple days ago, but i'm still waiting to hear from them re my HG...

Re: Stradic FK Maintenance Port

An alarming post. I just opened up my new FK and liberally applied Ardent Reel Butter to...everything (it was bone dry, and will be fished in salt). Is my reel going to explode? Shimano grease is specific to the gear sets they use, if you want to destroy a Shimano spinning reel just try putting Quan...

Re: Does the reel REALLY matter when it comes to balance?

For tip-up applications, balance is very important to me, and the solution is easy: add weight to the butt of your rod.

Re: Shimano Zodias 610 ml

I have mine setup for BFS with my Scorpion and a Yumeya spool but I think the rod might be too much. I don't think it's the best rod for casting my 1/8 oz baits but this is my first setup so I don't have anything to compare it to. I am by no means a BFS purist, but I think the Zodias ML does not qu...

Re: Rod Weights

So I ended up with both Zodias 610 ML and Maxim 610 ML. Shimano Zodias 6'10 ML casting: 3.87oz Phenix Maxim 6'10 casting: 3.87oz Exactly the same weight, but the Zodias is more tip heavy. Phenix Maxim is balancing out right at the nut with a 7oz reel, Zodias about 1.5" forward. I'm a firm believer o...

Re: New Curado 70

I see the Scorpion 70 listed as 7+1 bearings (SARB) while Curado 70 listed as 5+1 (BB??)

Besides this (potential) difference...anything different between the two reels? I was under the impression that they're the same reel just JDM/USDM...if the bearing count is true, I was mistaken!

Re: Rod Weights

Anyone have weight on a Phenix Maxim 6'10 ML? Or any casting rod in the Maxim series?

Re: Shimano Zodias 610 ml

I know the lure ratings are up to 1/2oz on this stick, but do you think it could handle 5/8oz poppers or walkers? I just picked one up (actually just popped it up FS on another board), and I would say if anything it's underrated. I think 5/8 would do just fine on that rod, there's tip but not as mu...

Re: Stradic FK 1000

We've had a few at the store I work at, and I never noticed a difference between the two. I hope you're right! I recall certain models of shimano spinners having different bodies/sideplates in the 1000 size, and maybe people extrapolated that to the new FKs. Something similar to the Symetre 500 not...

Stradic FK 1000

I've been reading that the FK 1000 might have plastic instead of metal body (as opposed to the larger sizes). Can anyone confirm/deny this? Is there any difference in build with the 1k sized FK vs. the larger ones?

Re: New Curado 70

TW has the bearings listed as 5BB+1RB: I assume this is a typo and the 70 will come with A or S-ARB bearings? Definitely a light saltwater reel for me.

Re: UL 500 sized spinning reels

The Nasci is price around $70 so i assume it is in there Symetre line. Same 4/1 Bearing count, but with Shimano's latest tech. Thanks for the response! They look as if they have identical specs...but maybe I'm missing something. If the 500 sized Nasci has X-Ship (which the 500 Symetre does not), th...

Re: UL 500 sized spinning reels

Look into the new shimano nasci 500. bumping this old thread for a question: the symetre 500 FL is the only symetre w/o X-ship. Is this also the case with the Nasci? Where would you place the Nasci in Shimano's USDM line...is it equivalent to the Stradic FJ? Definitely looking to upgrade my symetre...
