Re: Shimano Jackal poison Ultima - Anyone got one
Fished the 66m for the first time using 110's. I did notice that I lost a bit of casting distance compared to using my 7'er but I felt better when jerking. Didn't get a feel for the rod as much since it was a quick trip and no fish.

Re: Best fishing line for the specific techniques
How about big topwater baits? Would you guys go braid or 20lb+ mono? I'm talking about baits 2oz and up.
I use braid for my smaller baits but I'm very new to these big boys.

where to get my Exsence DC cleaned
I dropped mine in mud a while back and now I think it's catching up. Possibly CA?
I live in Oregon and I've already tried the only place here.

Re: Need new topwater rod
Screw it, I can't buy a mid range rod. Eventually I'll want something nicer and have to buy another rod.
Now that it's settled I'll look into some options. I read about the Evergreen Super Stallion and a few others. I'll look into some of the ones suggested also.

Need new topwater rod
Just bought an Poison Ultima so my budget isn't too friendly right now but I'm dumb and over spend on everything so who knows. I need a rod for casting bigger baits up to 2-2.5oz. Punkers, DWB's, Ima big sticks, etc..... I do have a Loomis SWBR 904c but it's a swimbait rod and I need a rod just for ...

Re: Shimano Jackal poison Ultima - Anyone got one
I'm about to pull the trigger on the 166M. Is it a medium (regular) action. I saw on the video that Shimano Japan had and the guy was casting jigs. I don't want a fast or extra fast rod.
Thanks guys

Primarily jigging braids. If a tuna breaks me off at my main line, that'll be super expensive.

Re: What to do with broken rod components?
Guides are a must save. Depends on how big of a rod, u can make a gaff. I've even stripped a blank to make it for a top piece for a surf rod.
