Re: I tried to go cheap, but never again!
Oh man I tried to save some money and buy a cheaper rod but now my eyes are open. I just received my rod today (Quantum Superlite) and now I know why not to go cheap. Immediately I noticed the wind check was not even seated properly and there was a few chips in the epoxy. Additionaly, the inconsist...

Re: Help with $300 Crank stick!!
I grabbed a Powell Endurance 726CB over the winter, and it appears as if it will pan out to be one heck of an all purpose cranking rod. I also have the Phenix X-10 that is mentioned above, and that thing is all kinds of whippy. I'd be nervous to throw more than 1/2 oz. on it, although it is a nice ...

Re: How to set the Curado 200E7 Brake Settings
Even I tried it "off balance" and didn't feel any difference but I was told by my mechanical engineering professor buddy that it can't help but be, so I figured, why take any chances. :D He said that the weights are so light its not like it's going to make the reel vibrate out of your hand but it do...

Re: How to set the Curado 200E7 Brake Settings
If you do two pins, make them the ones that are opposite from each other. If you do three, then do every other one. Four should be the opposing pairs. In other words, don't use the pins only on one side. It throws off the balance.

I too am interested in the Steez 7-1"Compile-X and wanted to know its versatility. As a co-angler for the time being--I am trying to limit myself to 5 rod and reel setups. Know that I will always have my special 5" senko rod and shaky head rod and a MH crankbailt rod. But wanna keep another rod tha...

Re: Phenix Rods?
I love my Ultra MBX Classic 7'7" MHF. I have it paired with an I'ZE Light and use it for 1/2-1.25oz spinnerbaits, 3/8-3/4oz lipless, big topwaters and 3/8-3/4oz buzzbaits. Hey, hey, Dragon1! How the heck have you been? Glad you like your Phenix. I am really excited to fish these rods this year. I'v...
