Re: First Custom Painted Reel

I actually like the handle more than the reel and I'm not knocking your paint job! It looks like a perfect match for a Deps Zillion!! Your project might have given me an idea worth trying out, thanks! :big grin:

Re: The Full Rod collection!

Those are some outstanding combos, congrats!! If it's possible, I'd consider one of the new Sustain FG reels to match up with your NRX 852s... the difference in price is worth it and I've owned and fished both quite a bit! I'm a big fan of the NRX 852s regardless of the reel though!

Re: Cronarch D7 gears for core 101mg

I had the gears on orders with the tackle trap for a while but they keep pushing the date out... Can you please tell me when you spec to get more 7:1 gears ? Thanks Just to be clear, "we" at The Tackle Trap don't keep pushing the date out, we're at the mercy of Shimano - when they get them, we'll g...

Re: How to keep Megabass's cork looking so clean?

Great link nuocmam1222! Those are some great looking Megabass rods! I apply U40 to every cork handled rod I buy as soon as I get it. It's great stuff and does an incredible job protecting and keeping the cork looking great. We proudly offer it for sale at The Tackle Trap - here's a link: http://tack...

Re: TD-Z 103H-BBS-Zillion HLC?

Looking for a new reel for one of my swimbait rods (homemade 7'11" heavy, MHX SWB956-Blend blank). I'm thinking another BBS, a TD-Z 103H with a ZPI RC-001 spool or a Zillion HLC. I'll be running 15lbs mono and I'm fine with the capacity of all three reels. I've got a BBS and love it, I've got a TD-...

Re: uses for a core 100mg7

Does the MG7 have brass gears? I thouhgt the100 MGFV was the only one that had brass gears. Also, what Shimano reel would you suggest for flippin? TKU Yes - the Core 100MG7 features brass gears as in the Chronarch 100D7... If you're a RH and like a lightweight, powerful, magnesium framed reel, the ...

Re: uses for a core 100mg7

It's by far my favorite of the Core Family. There's something about the 100MG7 that feels right - more similar to the beloved Chronarch 100D7 than any of the rest of the Cores - likely due to the brass gearing and the larger PGII knobs that make it so comfortable and fish so nicely. In terms of uses...

Re: Getting Price Sticker Off Cork?

Now all you need to do is add a coat of U-40 cork sealant to keep the cork looking great for a long time... I use it on all my cork rods and it really works well!

Re: NRX 873 for heavy cover

For all those who own an NRX 873, would you feel confident pitching 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz jigs in to mats and pads with that rod? Pads yes, mats not so much for me. I don't think it's powerful enough for very heavy mat fishing. I wouldn't hesitate to fish the 873 with a swim jig around or through the gr...
