Re: thelatrobe33: Feedback Request
Great seller A+. I bought a MB Black Elseil from him that he said was used a couple of times but I looks brand new except for a few scratches on the butt cap (inevitable). I would definitely do business with him again.

Half the price of the new Steez, yeah not quite but makes more sense. I see your point. The new Steez is certainly not a lot of bang for your buck!

Half the price of the Antares? Last I looked the Antares was $550. The price point of the new Metanium is superb by the way, couldn't ask for better (for JDM).

Re: shimano antare 2012 or Metanium 2013
If it feels better than the Steez I am all over it. I LOVE my Steez reels. Man, this is looking more and more like the reel I have been waiting for from Shimano, high speed gearing, x-ship, sub 6oz, flexible color scheme, SVS, and micro gears. I would have sprung for a Core 100MG7 if only Shimano di...

Cheap and unrefined? How so? I am very interested in this reel, seems to have all the features I'm looking for in a new reel.

Re: Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG
This has me wondering how my Steez with MB BFS spool would compare to this reel. Has anybody done a side to side comparison?

Re: Daiwa pitching and casting: from a shimano user
I set my spool tension to minimum (as loose as possible without side to side play) and adjust my brakes between 3 and 5. Daiwa reels (high end) are very "free" casters needing much less force to put the lure out there, an advantage in many conditions especially kayak fishing

Re: Megabass Honeycomb Spool
Aluminum has a specific gravity of 2.55 -2.8, titanium 4.506. Doing some calculations titanium comes in at 2.605 onces per cubic inch, and aluminum comes in at 1.62 ounces per cubic inch.

Re: Megabass Honeycomb Spool
Smalliesteve - Yes it is true you can use less material, as titanium has a much higher strength than aluminum. However, keep in mind machining limitations and cost, machining titanium is very difficult compared to steel and aluminum, the tool feed rates must be exactly optimized otherwise your tool ...

Re: Megabass Honeycomb Spool
lpquick - titanium is heavier than aluminum thus contradicting the "lighter is better" philosophy that this spool embodies. As well, titanium offers strength over aluminum but in this application there would be no advantage, aluminum spools are plenty strong for sub 10lb line. The spool does look in...
