Re: Tsurinoya XF-50 Budget BFS Reel Teardown & Evaluation
I ordered a tip section, and a whole second rod tonight. kuying Teton TTS662L. Now we see how long it takes to get here. From what I can tell, the Tsurinoya Proflex 2 now comes in a "Light" version too. I was planning on ordering a Teton next, either UL or Light, but it is hard to not try another P...

Re: keitech 2.8 rigging
I use that size Kietech on the Zman Shroomz head, the ones made for their TRD worms (flanders/ned rig). The 1/10 oz heads plus 2.8 Swing Impact is perfect with my BFS setups. Do you find the hooks in the Ashton jig heads to rust easily? I have noticed a little rust on the hook, right where it comes...

Re: Crankbait reel
I just picked a Tatula 150 in the 5.1 ratio. I think it will be a good cranking reel. I wish they made the Tatula 100 in the low ratio, bu they don’t, yet.

Re: Tsurinoya XF-50 Budget BFS Reel Teardown & Evaluation
I wish the seller on Ali would let me buy 2 tip sections for the Teton rod, but he won’t. I’ll probably go ahead and order one soon anyway. I see too many good reports to think mine was anything but a fluke.

Re: BlueSky Boatworks 360 Angler Review
Hey Brad, I considered one of these but passed. I had just bought a little stick steer Tracker boat. I consider it a two man kayak with ipilot and will do 30 mph ;) In the last three weeks I bought a used Hobie Outback. I don’t know why I wanted so long to get a Hobie, I love it! About the only thin...

Re: Is Zillion SV worth cost over Tatula SV?
The Zillion has a larger, nicer spool tension knob. That’s not enough for me, having owned both I sold the Zillion SV and have a pair of Tatula SV’s

Re: What piece of cheap or tackle gear do you use and love?
I have a pair of $29 BPS Crappie Max rods I use with an Alphas reel to cast 1/8 ounce lures, usually a tiny spinnerbait. I’m sure these rods were intended for a spincast reel, I find them stiffer than most UL rods and they work great for low $$ BFS rods. I have a few old Fenwick pistol grip rods I u...

Re: Tsurinoya XF-50 Budget BFS Reel Teardown & Evaluation
@uljersey how are you getting along with the Teton rod? I bought one last year, the tip section snapped while “feeling the action”. I had yet to even put a reel on it. I could buy one spare tip section, but the shipping is more than the rod section, and they won’t let you buy two tip sections. Anywa...

Re: Daiwa Coastal
Daiwa has had a few “Coastal” reels in the last few years. The Zillion Coastal is a great reel. The one based on the Aird was ok, but nowhere near as nice. The last one is blue, based on the Tatula, I love this one but I’m a big fan of the TWS reels, I had to ditch the handle though, this big round ...

Re: Kuying Teton
I bought that exact rod this spring. Planned to use a Pixy Typ R reel on it, for small crankbait sand small spinnerbaits. Took it out of the package, assembled the rod and tested the action by “shaking” the rod back and forth. The tip section broke almost completely in two. I hadn’t even mounted a r...

Tsurinoya XF50 reel
My Tusrinoya XF50 reel showed up today. I had just enough time to spool it with 8# line and tie on a 1/8 Oz roadrunner head and plastic body. I used a 6’ light action Bass Pro crappie rod for comparison, because I had two identical rods. On rod#2 I put a Pixy Type R with the same line. I also have a...

Re: What the Finesse?!? A Sub $150 BFS Stick? Meet The 47
I have one of these rods and love it! I always lean toward a lighter action rod anyway. Until this one, my favorite was a Kistler Carbon Steel 6'6" inshore casting rod. These two rods have a very similar action.
