Core or Calais for Crankin?
Hey guys, well I have bought the G.Loomis CBR845 7' MH Crankbait rod. I plan on using 10lb Fluorocarbon fishing DT4,DT6 & occasionally a DT10 Crankbait but not very likely. I am now looking for a reel and can't decide between the Core 100MG 6.2:1 or the Calais 100A 5.8:1 The problem is deciding to g...

Re: Your favorite NRX??
Hey guys, I have a little feedback too. I would deffinately tell you to go for a rod. I have only bought two NRX rods and only the 7'1H has been fished but that rod has been problem free so far.I have a 7'3MH on hold for myself too and I have no doubt I'll be bringing home a solid rod. The store I w...

New Zillion Reel(My First Daiwa Combo Completed)
Good evening guys, well tonight I brought home the Zillion 100PA, 4.9:1 ratio baitcaster to pair with my big 8'MH Zillion Swimbait rod. I like the reel, seems smooth and has some good parts in it. Only thing I don't like is the weight of the reel but I guess it will balance nice with the rod. I chos...

Re: Green NRX rod weight!
True and that's what I thought and expected too, that green would weigh more than blue. Although I didn't do a detailed microscopic examination of the green NRX, it appears to be the same as the blue. Same guides, same cork, same grip...?????? I'm using the same postal scales for both rods. The onl...

GLX H Action Rods?
Hey guys, well I'm at it again and looking to get some more gear ordered for the new year. Right now my frog rod is the 893 Mossyback 7'5MH. It's a great rod but I am really wanting to take some advice I got with the GLX rods. I want to get both the 894 & 954 7'5H & 7'11H flippin rods by GLX. They a...

Senko's with NRX ?
Hey guys, I recently bought the 822DSR NRX and love it...love the light Stradic on it and decided I want to order the 7'1M Spinning NRX. I just wanted to ask if the rod is strong enough for pulling bass from edge of cover..like lilly pads open water around docks with light braid...15lb-20lb It might...

Re: 5-8in swimbait rod
My Daiwa Zillion 8'MH "Swimbait" rod is rated for those same size baits. Here's some pictures, its a very light rod for it's size and power. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/MCTFisher/ScreenHunter_01Nov281715.jpg http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/MCTFisher/ScreenHunter_02Nov281715.jpg htt...

Re: Need advice between loomis crankin rods
The 845 is the "all-around" crankbait rod. It fishes very well from 1/4 oz. up to about 5/8oz very well. It is also a phenominal topwater rod. The 853/855 GLXs are NOT lighter than their regular CBR counterparts. They are more sensitive, but when it comes to cranking, it might be overkill. I do hav...

Re: Are you buying it?
Honestly it's stupid...so people had to send there rods in because the glue wasnt holding the cork screw...that was the point of failure and because glue failed we assume the rods are junk. I have just one NRX "blue" and I love it, it's light its slick and it the best rod I own...I don't like the gr...

G.Loomis Collection +1 Updated Pic
Hey guys, sorry I got another rod today for my Birthday present. I picked out a beauty NRX 822 DSR. I really like how soft the tip section of the rod is...similar to my Avid I had and sold off. So basically I took my Stradic 2500FI and put it on my Mossyback 6'8MH and that lonely Stradic CI4 needed ...

Need advice between loomis crankin rods
Hello again guys. Well tonight I decided on selling my 6'6 Loomis crankbait rod and am now going to purchase 2 new ones for next season. I'm torn between the CBR843 & CBR845. I want M and MH crankbait rods but will also not hesitate one bit to try the CBR853 & CBR855 7'1M & 7'1MH GLX Crankbait rods....

Re: New Shimano rods - Impressive.
I think they are ugly...yes graphite is better but have you seen the guides? There huge now on the compres and clarus rods. There is a reason guys lined up for out blowout on the "Cork" generation of rods and that's because they were nicer. The eva and color schemes are all for marketing...crucials w...

Re: Green NRX vs Blue NRX
The rods are plenty light...I want to see a 7'5H and a 7'11H...I guess a 6'3 or 6'6M would be sweet tooFastfish wrote:Forgot to mention we all need to hammer G Loomis about lighter action rods being needed in the NRX line-up of rods.
