Re: 2 piece casting rod
Thanks for all the suggestions! The Nuovo Bosco and the Fullrange CC weight more than what I would like... I've been digging through old posts, and I read about a few people having their 1-piece rod modified into a 2-piece rod. Does anyone know how much this would cost? I'm considering doing this fo...

Re: 2 piece casting rod
If you can find one, I was very impressed by the Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 2 piece medium power fast action, I believe it is 6'8". It was the first 2 piece rod I purchased in the 21st century and I was shocked at how sensitive it was and how true it seemed to fish to its power and action rating...

2 piece casting rod
Hey guys, I'm thinking about selling my NRX803C and Daiwa Tatula casting rods to get a 2 piece casting rod. It's much easier for me to travel around with a 2 piece rod, especially for a bank fisherman like me. I'm looking for an all round rod, mainly jigs and Texas rigs, so sensitivity is key. Also,...

Re: If you could only have one reel...
Out of all those reels, I own the Metanium 13 and Aldebaran 51. The first one definitely feels more solid than the latter, but I love how light the Aldebaran is.
If I had to pick just one between these two, I would pick the Metanium.

Re: shimano jackall poison adrena discontinued??
They have been going on sale recently so that is usually a sign that something is up. I was able to pick up a 610 casting rod for $199 a couple of months ago on Amazon. Haven't tried it out yet but feels like a nice rod. wow. what an amazing deal. plz post those on the hot deals section so we can a...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty
I'm a right handed person, so I tried reeling with my right hand but never felt comfortable. I reel with my left and hold the rod with my right hand--> perfect for me.

Re: Rod Weights
Thanks! I had a feeling it was less than 4oz. I will pair it with the Exsence DC since I sold the Tat Type R already, hopefully the balance is finepoisonokie wrote:3.7oz and balanced at the nut with a tat type rCyacnba wrote:Does anyone know the weight of the Daiwa Tatula 6'10MH casting rod?

Re: Keitech Model 2 Football Jig
They are made of Tungstun so they will be a small profile to begin with and that is a good thing. It also uses a 2/0 hook, the thing to remember is that a lot of anglers turned the football jig into a different animal. Originally it was made with a light wire hook and a thing weed guard and used on...

Re: Keitech Model 2 Football Jig
You mean the one that looks like a swimbait? I've never used a football jig with a trailer like the Swing Impact. Should I use this football jig as a swim jig instead?cndbasshunter wrote: swing impact work awesome on them.

Keitech Model 2 Football Jig
Hey everyone, I purchased a few of these jigs since they are made of tungsten instead of lead. However, when I received them, I noticed that they are way too small. My question is what trailers do you guys use for these jigs? I expected them to be bigger, so all I have are Rage Tail Craws, Biospawn ...

Re: Tatula 6101MHFB
I have that rod, and I use it as an all-round casting rod. The rod is sensitive for me when fishing with jigs; it has good backbone, and it's very light. I haven't tried anything below 3/8oz, so I can't really tell you how it does with less weight. I had no issues with +3/8oz so far. I also used cha...

Thanks for this, I've been thinking about purchasing either a MET MGL or DC. Guess I'm still leaning more towards the DCLoafer wrote:By the way, Met 13 vs Met DC vs Met MGL battle for distance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RY1ldRTKd6Y

Re: Where are the shimanos?
I should have seen this coming since all my other reels weight less than 6.4oz lol. I just couldn't resist having a DC reel for less than $300.BRONZEBACK32 wrote: 8.6 is a bit much now days.
My limit is 7.5oz reel and at that weight is balances a rod just about right.

Re: Where are the shimanos?
My 3 Shimano reels: 13 Met XG, Aldebaran 51HG, and Exsence DC. I will most likely get rid of the Exsence since I can't get used to its weight, but otherwise, great reel. Hopefully I can trade it for a Met DC.

Re: Most recommended japan tackle online shops?
I had no issues purchasing 2 reels from Digitaka and 1 reel from Tokyo-Sport-Fishing, which still has the 13 Met on sale (lefties only).
They both had great customer service.
