Re: New Megabass Destroyers

The Siglett model is intriguing. Man it so does. I admit to a bit of fear about high-end rods that are that light, it just takes a moment of carelessness with those tips. I am also digging the Killer Code, but I have a weakness for shorter, powerful rods with a slower taper. The only I am most like...

Re: What is your go-to ned rig setup?

HF I routinely set off on Bataan Death March wades particularly in the heat of summer when I need to walk far, cover water and stay out of the spook zone. It hasn’t ever limited my price points. I carry the same tackle on foot or floating and I fish some real remote bony water. Perhaps studs over f...

Re: What is your go-to ned rig setup?

For me the Ned is almost entirely a wading lure and as such I keep my gear inexpensive as it has a rough life and I view slipping and falling on my rod an inevitability. For first combo is a custom on a MHX 6’ ML/F Shooter blank. It’s paired with a 1000 Ci4+ loaded with 8lb J-Briad to a 8-10lb fluor...

Can't hook a DS weight into the actual Fuji EZ keeper, of course,
What? Sure you can, just put the flip the keeper over the line. I do that for every lire, even ones that have exposed hooks, it keeps them tighter to the rod.

I've put them both in front and behind the reel. I always ended up poking myself with the keeper between the split grips though.
Same, I want the hook(s) in front of my hand while moving around.

Re: Daiwa Tatula SV TW

Are the new Tat SV reels compatible with the Elite and 100 spools? The new 2020 Tatula SV TW 103 has a 32mm spool. The Elite and 100 have a 34mm spool. They are not compatible. Well that’s annoying! Any idea when the Tat SV spools will be available? The 2017 Tatula SV TW spools are in stock at The ...

Re: asian portal fishing

I have used them before and they seem completely legit. However their refusal to ship 1 part rods to the US drives me away from them. The prices generally excellent, which makes it too frustrating to even look at their site anymore.

Re: Coronavirus "Covid-19"

I work in the events/trade show industry and have had about 7 weeks of work canceled so far. March/April went from 80% full to completely blank on my calendar. It’s not going to kill me but it’s gonna suck. Plus side is that for the first time in 3 yeas I have the free time to get some pre-spawn fis...

That's a moot point if you're a line watcher like me. On slack braid, it will literally jump even with a tiny bump from a fish.
True, but wind and current can make that harder. Plus I just love feeding that little twitch.

More sensitive than braid for slack line presentations? What fluoro do you use?
Anything would be better than braid for slack line stuff, it’s completely dead once you lose tension.

Re: Does the Phenix Feather tickle in the right places?

I had a Gen 1 Recon 6’8” L/F that I foolishly sold and man I regretted it the instant the rod left my hands. If the Feather rods are The same power/taper then I may have to pick one up to replace it.

Re: Steez A TW - Worth it?

It’s worth it if you want to also get an aftermarket spool. The stock one is overkill for most bass presentations. I have used a RCS sv1012 and a Zillion sv1016 spool in mine and both are great. The 1012 loaded with 40lb PP Super Slick is a pitching machine!

Re: New Poison Adrena

I know it’s a long shot, but has anyone laid hands on the166H-SB? I’m looking for a shorter H/XH rod to use in my kayak for 1/2oz jigs and smaller hard/soft swim baits. The 166H is rated like 3/8-2oz with a Regular taper. Based on the numbers I would think that it shouldn’t have an issue setting a j...
