Fish them stock first. Then if you feel performance is lacking I would flush and lightly oil the spool bearings. If the gears feel dry add some more grease to them. If they feel overgreased clean them and regrease then appropriately.

With the exception of frogs, all casting gear is mono or floro or copoly only with none of this braid to a leader crap.

For spinning I much prefer braid to a leader for casting and line management. Some of mine have mono or floro but not many.
