Interesting they are using cobalt alloy for some of the guide inserts and siliconeite (which I assume is either a type of SIC or another silicon ceramic of the same quality) vs Torzite inserts.

I always looked at the Alphas 150 as the JDM version of the Advantage based reels. While a little wider than other reels it's low profile still made it a decent handling reel. I would guess the Venom is a rod in the middle due to it being rated as a F4 1/2 (3/4 max lure weight).
