Re: Shimano conquest 903c?
for what its worth, i have the poor man's version of this rod (the E6X 903c) and I must say I love it. I throw everything with it, the extra length combined with the MBR MH taper is awesome. I would imagine the Conquest version would cast a little better (better guides) and be more crisp. Thank you...

Re: Shimano conquest 903c?
Thank you everyone, I might have to pass on it cause I really need a rod that can handle a 110 whopper plopper. I don’t throw a lot of chatterbaits as I’ve had terrible luck with them. Not sure if I’m really looking for a rod of this length. I always wanted an 893 nrx but I now have 894, 853, 852 so...

Shimano conquest 903c?
Looking at potentially picking one up from a buddy at a good price. Wondering from anyone who has experience what your thoughts are on this rod, and what you find it best for? I really don’t need it, but if I did I would kind of like it for chatterbaits, paddletails, whopperploppers and double down ...

I’m pretty new to using a drop shot but so far I really like my glx 822s dsr paired with a ci4+. Been great

Re: What’s best nrx for 1/2oz and under jigs
If I was staying at 1/2oz maybe 3/8 I would probably go 894c. If your staying 3/8 and under with the odd 1/2 I would go 893 or 853c depending on where and how your fishing. I throw my 1/2oz and 3/8pz with large trailers on my 894, and my 1/4,5/16, 3/8 on the 853c

Re: Crankbait reel
Yah in Canada the Curado K is 249.00 and the bantam is 479.99. I love the feel of the bantam but have a lot of big ticket items coming in the following weeks and can’t really justify a bantam at the moment. So hopefully the k feels good on the rod!

Re: Rod balance Loomis / St Croix
I can’t help you with the nrx 854 as I actually haven’t even held it but will offer my opinion based on a handful of other loomis rods, and st. Croix. The new legend tourneys are better balanced then the previous generation. Still a little tip heavy though. The legend elites and x’s are better balan...

Re: Crankbait reel
I've traditionally been a Daiwa guy, but the last couple of years have been adding more and more Shimano to my stable. For squarebills, I'm using the new Bantam. For things like Rapala DT6s, a Chronarch MGL. I had the Concept C and loved it at first as it would flat out launch baits when paired wit...

Re: Crankbait reel
I know it’s on tge heavy side but I’ve got a few legend glass rods with bantams I use for cranks and they work great super sturdy . Curado k is a good one as well I almost use all 6 ratios for cranking except if grass is really thick I’ll go to a 7 ratio and faster taper rod. Tge rod you have is on...

Crankbait reel
Last year I bought a 13 fishing concept c for my imx pro 845c cbr throwing mainly squarebills. The reel is... okay at best. Sure I can really launch it but I’ve never seen anything more finicky. I am a shimano guy and would like to replace it with a shimano reel. Which shimano casting reel have you ...

Re: New reel dilemma
Thanks guys, picked up a bantam mgl xg, threw some 50lbs power pro, tied on my favourite frog (jackall karea) and sat ir on top my imx pro 884 twfr and boy does it ever feel sweet! Can’t wait to get that thing going. And the chronarch mgl spun up with 30lbs power pro to 8lbs leader tied with an fg k...

New reel dilemma
Right now I’m looking at 3 reels but can only afford two at the current time and the 3rd will be pushed back for quite some time. I have an imx Pro 884 twfr with a chronarch mgl on top and love it! I recently acquired an nrx 853c and an expride 7’ lite+ spinning rod. I’m looking at a new bantam mgl ...

Re: Jig/T-rig Rod
How long have you had the rod? How does it compare to other rods you’ve used in the technique? Thinking about an upgrade on my 13 fishing envy black 7’6” heavy rod I use for t-rigs and was debating a 7’2” or 7’6” expride. I use a glx 894c for jigs and always have one tied on.cndbasshunter wrote:Expride 7'2" heavy
