Re: Shimano Zodias
Thanks for those charts, they are really helpful! Looks like I'll be getting some new sticks. Any reason no t to save money and buy from Plat? I imagine the big shipping expense is mitigated by buying multiple rods.

Re: Shimano Zodias
I wonder if the spinning rods are true 2pc rods that split in the middle as well? hmmmm....

Re: Shimano Zodias
I'm looking for another crank bait rod. Anyone know which is slower, the ZDS268ML or the ZDS270ML?

Re: No bliss with Gliss
It would be awesome if Gliss actually responded. Diameter really seems tone the best indicator of breaking strength. Everything printed on the package is BS, either under or over rated.

Those Spro's with the tungsten weight transfer system go a mile and half. The Little John Medium diver is my favorite crank. Nice hooks too.

Re: Pure Fishing's --3M Powerlux Just Showed up!
I'm pretty intrigued considering Fenwicks get great reviews as value rods, we'll see how these measure up at a higher price point. I will say they seem a little heavy at 4-4.5+oz and I think they could have done better with the guide train for $300. SS Alconite is functional, but not top of the line.

Re: 2 piece Zodias
Thanks Bantam1. That's what I've heard before. I was just worried I am missing out on something by fishing 2pc rods that will easily fit in the trunk of my car.

Re: 2 piece Zodias
I guess I'll be buying one from Japan. Do you have any opinion on whether or not a two piece feels much different or or gives up much compared to a 1 piece? Always interested in an educated opinion.

Re: Best All-around Pond Fishing Rod under $100
The rods you have aren't holding you back in the least. Those big bass you see aren't just in the middle. You just need to practice and get comfortable with a few effective techniques. I would stop trying to do everything and just focus on 2 or 3 things. Even that is a lot for a beginner.

When the knot matters, I leave the house with an FG, but I come home with uni to uni. FG is just too ugh trouble and wasted time in the field.

Re: What's your thoughts on bed fishing?
Catch weigh release seems to be the future for tournaments and it seems like professional fishing has picked up on that. Give it 10 years and I bet it's more common.

Re: Sunline FC Leader
In general Fluoro leader is much stiffer then regular fluoro. The stiffness makes them terrible for wrapping around spool, but helps prevent fouling of the hooks on the line.
