Re: Been out of it for a while -- top choices in $150 pricep
Zodias is definitely solid but it's above the pricepoint. IMO, the Omen Black had three weaknesses: questionable handle/reel seat, cheap/lousy components, and poor build quality. If you're ever picking through some Omens on a rack, prepare yourself for a lot of frowning. However, these flaws were o...

Been out of it for a while -- top choices in $150 pricepoint
Last year I remember feeling pretty confident about the top rod choices in this range, but with all these releases at Icast and new series, things have changed.
Which rods between $100 and $160 or so top the charts in your opinion?

Re: New updated Omen Black
Are the new omens that are fast action a bit slower than the old omens? I found that my 7'1 mh omen is as fast as many extra fast action rods, which might be good for some techniques but I'd rather have the action be slower to be more viable as an all around rod.

Re: Chronarch ci4+ vs lews team lite
Thanks guys. That's what I was hoping to read. I was not a fan of the Curado I due to it being finicky for me, and I was a big supporter of the movement of lews putting the ACS braking in their reels other than the bb1 pro since it came out, so I feel I owe them a chance. I feel that the team lite w...

Re: ICAST-2015
I'll definitely be grabbing one of those sv103's. Sorry if this has been answered, but is there any chance the frame of this reel is downsized compared to the zillion 100 frame? If not, I assume the spool is simply less deep.

Chronarch ci4+ vs lews team lite
Which of these two reels casts smoother, longer, and in a less finicky manner? In looking for a reel that casts like the "set and forget" cu/ch 51e which is non-finicky and can cast very far, but is smoother and more refined. Will be used for t-rigs, jigs, square bills, spinnerbaits, occasionally to...

Rapala DT6 is the farthest casting shallow-mid depth crank I've used.

Re: New Bass Fishing Teams/Sponsors/Contracts
I can't tell if it's just an illusion but Aaron does seem to believe in the wave guides.. Perhaps he made the switch for a reason other than the suspected reason (money). I have never used em so I have no input.

Re: Ultralight rod under $125
I finally found a good deal on one.
Hopefully I'll find the same joy in UL fishing again that I once did.

Lew's Tournament Lite vs Tournament pro
I am looking not so much for a comparison between the two reels as I am a comparison between the different braking systems. How do the lite series reels (externally adjusted centri brakes) compare to the tournament pro series (dual braking)? Please highlight three areas of the prior: ease of castin...

Re: Ultralight rod under $125
before you bite the bullet on the Fenwick, I am going to throw out another suggestion (since you are looking for a true fast action UL rod) you might be better to save up a bit more cash and go for the G. Loomis TSR series (trout series) rods. Folks in the UL forum on this board love them. myself i...

Re: Ultralight rod under $125
I appreciate the other suggestions folks, but I must say my mind is set on that river runner =P~ . I'm sure others who are in the same position as I was will appreciate seeing some other options in this thread if they come by it however. I'm thinking a size 20 pflueger president perhaps or maybe a s...

Re: Ultralight rod under $125
Quick check of Fleabay and I found this http://m.ebay.com/itm/361265803119?nav=SEARCH I have the 6'8"L and I love it. Th is appears to be the new one as the handle looks a little different but they are the best USDM light rods for the money that I've put my hands on. Anyone happen to pass by anothe...

Re: Ultralight rod under $125
I'll probably pull the trigger on that fenwick river runner. I am a big fenwick fan and now that i consider it, two piece would be very convenient for this rod's purpose. Will fit in my car very easily and wont be clumsy when trying to paddle on the kayak. Appreciate the help.
