Re: SMAK Power Handle
I am about the same way, using it when I'm doing something else, but I still feel the need to find a use for the feature

Re: lipless cranks
yeah I was aware of the traps mentioned, but haven't used them. How's the action of the floating model compare to a conventional? What kind of profile does it have when it floats to the surface (if that makes sense) I honestly have not used them, have just seen them! I would assume that it would fl...

Re: lipless cranks
They make a floating rat-l-trap, as well as a suspending model.

Re: CLU tackle
I don't think Tom is advertising at all. Most advertisers join, spam, then leave, they don't wait an entire year to do it. Also, I received a PM from him asking my opinion, as I started a thread or two on the stuff myself. My opinion - They're quality handcrafted baits. What I know - The owner is lo...

Re: SMAK Power Handle
I have not put a new handle on mine to see the other side of the fence, but I like the power handle. Took a few empty grabs looking for the other end a few times, but I'm used to it now. I did ask a question once, but never got an answer: If you replace the handle - does the thumb bar still retrieve...

Re: fishfinder/gps questions (which one, combo gps, etc...)
I'm not a fan of the combo units for the same reasons dampeoples states... You loose one unit, you've lost them both. And unless you're going to the big magnum versions, I hate the reduced screen size you get when you have to share one screen for depth and GPS. I prefer an external antenna. If that...

Re: Personal experiences
Good to hear on the CBR843, I'm having one built for me now! I was using a Lew's Speed Stick for cranking, I dont even know what it's made out of, but it's only fault, to me, was the length, I couldn't find one longer than 6'. I'd never fish cranks with a different rod if I could find a supply of th...

Re: fishfinder/gps questions (which one, combo gps, etc...)
I do nto like combo units at all, personal preference, I know. I like knowing that if one fails, the other is still available, as well as being able to take the GPS unit with me to do car or hiking duty if I choose. I'm using a iFinder H20, got it before color existed, but they have a color unit now...

Dropshot Rod
I've taken a liking to this technique, and want to get it's very own rod. I am not going to use a spinning reel, so want to stay with a baitcaster. What are the actions primarily used for this application? Looking around, it seems that most of the lighter action rods are available for spinning blank...

Re: Uncle Josh Pork Trailer
You are welcome! The absolute coolest tool for doing this is the Dremel Stylus :) Keep the trailers wet, as they ARE like boot soles when dry! I don't know the name of it, but someone used to make a lure wrap that kept them wet (TT recently did a reviwe on a lure cover, but the company website is a ...

Re: T-rig bullet sinkers...
I've not seen the multiple size/bulk style packaging for sinkers anywhere but the chain stores, like Dicks or Wal-Mart, most tackle shops have them loose though.
