What kind of plastic are these? Im guessing they arent dollar store plastic, but anyone know the exact type of plastic used on reels?
Keep having nagging thoughts about the TWS lever system in tat type R breaking. The more I try to analyse the tat R and curado I, the more paranoid I become

Re: Shimano's X-Ship
Pick the one you like best, both will be plenty durable. If they're durable enough for a pro on tour, they're durable enough for us. If I had to give the nod to one or the other... I'd probably give it to shim. Haven't used either, but Shimano reels are just plain durable, I see no reason to think ...

Abu SilverMax - Flushing?
I have a 4yr old abu silvermax that I want to try flushing the bearings on. I do clean the thing once a year, but never tried flushing it. I have a general idea of what a flushing is, but have no idea how to do it at home. Anyone can offer some tips/tricks on how to do this?

Re: Shimano's X-Ship
I understand its an improvement, no questions there. But does it make such a big difference in durability? Im asking cause I can buy the tatula type R for $166, or the Curado I for $180. But since Im still a university student, I only got enough cash for 1. I want long-term durability over anything ...

Re: Shimano's X-Ship
I guess the X-Ship doesnt really make that big of a difference. I mean, no one complained about durability on all previous curados......right?

They both seem to have 2 bearings on the pin...

Shimano's X-Ship
Hows this different from what daiwa's tatulas are? the tats also has a pinion gear supported by bearings and their gears are apparently "precision machined" as well. Are there any benefits of X-ship over daiwas stuff, durability-wise?

wow, first time hearing an issue with the tatula. Some pics of your reel's internals would be great.
Zillion is built better than the tatula........it is $120 more expensive after all.....

I hope theres coating on it, cause without it, grooving seems like a real potential issue.
