Re: Shimano Metanium MgL came in today ....
Mine is finicky as well I literally have all the brakes on and outside dial on 4 . It's cast really well at that setting surprisingly . Super nice casting compared to the previous model. The power is smooth as well I love it .

Re: Shimano Metanium MgL came in today ....
I got the standard 6 speed ... Feels really nice . I took it out the other day and it per friend really well, it does cast lighter baits easier than the regular metanium. Spool loads up easily and the cranking is more refined . Launched a few vision 110's and caught quite a bit of fish in it .

Re: Shimano Metanium MgL came in today ....
I will be on the water with it tomorrow to get a better feel for the reel and its casting variables . A variety of lures is my main goal to test the distance and ease of distance . To be honest the retrieve feels like the new conquest, buttery and even more buttery under load . A very refined feel ,...

Shimano Metanium MgL came in today ....
Reel came in via Japan tackle .... My first thoughts are that its a beautiful sparkly silver color and the spool with the drilled holes throughout the spool is a nice weight reduction . It is beyond smooth I mean it's smoother than the current metanium and I love my current metanium . There's also a...

Re: Costa deal mar sunglasses
No worries lol I purchased the Costa Cortez with glass and copper mirror , I feel Like the mirror reflects differently when sight fishing . Kinda reduces the glare I would assume

Concept KP issue ...
I recently purchased a concept kp from tackle warehouse ,it looks great and sounds pretty nice but I have encountered two issues with the reel . First off , the casting is pretty nice but it seems really finicky . I had to put the brakes to 5 just so I wouldn't backlash but I would lose distance as ...

Concept Kp
I was interested in the concept kp , but I am not able to feel the reel so it's hard to tell how

Re: Ned Rig
These past few weeks I have put some time on the water with the 1/16 oz head and it's been doing very well for me . I use braid to fluoro leader and I get some good distance . Snagging is inevitable but depends on what your fishing . This little rig has been killer for me in a variety of colors . Li...

Re: Gander mountain line
Been using the Fluoro 10 and 12 , it's a little thick but it doesn't bother me at all. It handles well and the abrasion is great and the knot strength is awesome . I use the braid on my spinning and it's flawless , they have recently raised the prices on it but for 400 yards you can't beat it .

Sunline SX 1 10 lb with a 5 foot leader of sniper 5 or 6 lb. levante stinger shot and a Shimano Stella 2000 FI . Can't go wrong with that combination .

Re: Shimano Antares braid capacity???
Agreed , it makes more sense to be hassle free from those problems and fish more comfortably . Now my goal is to search for a solid fluorocarbon for my needs . Thanks again for the great info

Re: Shimano Antares braid capacity???
Gotcha , I wanted to try a braid with a fluoro leader to throw , bull shads , Mikey's , gantaral etc but you think that's a bad idea and I should run straight fluoro or mono ?.
