Anyone think Daiwa will introduce a 7.1 ratio into the Steez CT line?
I dont think this will happen.

To me, my 8.1:1 feels a lot under retrieve live my 7.1:1 Steez SV TWS. Given the smaller spool, that makes sense. I actually wised the 8.1:1 was even faster.

But that might just be me...

Re: Which braid for heavy jig set up?

Yeah. I have to play around with the diameters. I think if I have a long enough leader it should be enough for a shock absorber.

Also played with getting a Steez a spool, which holds a bit more line.

Rod? Type & weight of jig? Cover?

My rod is the Steez Frog rod. Football head 3/4 - 1.5 oz. Would also throw a paddletail swimbait every now and then. Cover from pretty open to medium cover.

Which braid for heavy jig set up?

Hi all, I am playing around with a different braid ideas for my heavy Jig combo, where I have been running pure 16# Sunline Sniper so far. In order to get a bit more line capacity on the reel (new Morethan) I am looking into different braid options. I am still planning to run a 16/18 # fluro leader....

Re: What line for NRX 852c?

I made some changes.

I am running a Steez CT SV TW on the NRX with green 7pound Sunline Sniper. So far so good. Obviously not a combo for anything cover, but I can throw a 1/8oz jig almost 100 feet.

Might switch to braid backing at some point, but so far pure FC works for me.

+1 from above.

Only issue that I have with mine 8.6 is that the paint already chips (andI have not scratched the reel).

Daiwa Steez SVF AGS vs Daiwa Steez SVF-XBD Frog Rod

Hi all, I am currently using the Daiwa Steez SVF-XBD Frog Rod purely as my heavy jig rod (1-1.5oz). The rod is relatively leight, powerful and has some decent sensitivity. Since my current frog rod (Okuma Scott Martin TCS Casting Rod 7'3" Heavy) feels a bit overpowered in anything but open water fro...

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

Having said that, just now found the High gear Left hand model in stock at JapanTackle. Was 530 USD (70 USD more than on Digitaka), but oh well. Was already expensive in the first place... ;)

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

Just talked to my contact at JapanLureshop. He told me that the high gear left hand models will be out of stock till June, maybe even July since Daiwa seems to have some issues with production.

That just sucks...

Looks like even my German countrymen are excited about this reel! And that has to say something when a super critical German gets that excited! ;)

So, you both having both reels, which reel would you recommend me? I think the alphas is better bang for the buck but by fishing the steez you can see why its the flagship reel. Re: Alphas CT 70 in stock at Digitaka!

Weight, mainly. The Steez is stupid-light and smooth, but that Alphas is no slouch. I do like the clicking drag in the Steez-it makes me wish every reel I own had this feature. But performance wise, you would rate them equal in terms of casting? Can I ask what you are using the reels for? What line...
