Re: best rod for?
I’ve used my MB FMJ to skip T-rigged plastics with good success. I would think it would just as well with a jig.

Re: 2 more broken MB rods...Ughhhh
I understand when its my fault but 300$ rods shouldn't bust under normal fishing conditions. Although it is a common practice... boat flipping fish is not a normal fishing f condition and not what a fishing rod is designed to do. Sure, some can handle it, and that might be a plus, but it is not nor...

Re: Megabass Daemos hook set
I've had the same issue with my Daemos in the past. A lighter wire hook and texposing helps, ultimately I started using a FMJ.

2 more broken MB rods...Ughhhh
I have 3 MB Destroyer Daemos rods. Practiced yesterday and broke 1 swinging a 2lb fish in the boat. Small tournament today, 2nd keeper of the day, maybe 2.5lbs, snap. Both about 2/3 of the way up the rod. This Spring had the same thing happen with a Black Jungle Deep Crank Slow Roll rod. Last fall i...

Re: Most specific chatterbait rod
Couple options for 3/8 - 1/2 oz chatterbaits My preferred chatterbait rod is the MB Black Jungle Deep Cranking Slow Rolling, but I've also had success using a Gen 1 MB XX DSR... Recently sold a 736 CB Glass Dobyns and it was solid as well, was probably better then either of the MB rods in the heavie...

Re: GY Senko good alternatives?
Haven't used GYCB products in years.... Can't justify the price for a bait that tears that easy and IMHO doesn't catch any more fish than a YUM Dinger, Gambler Ace, or some other knock offs I've purchased at 1/2 the price of GYCB. Skipping a T-Rigged GYCB Senko is akin to burning money.

Re: Frogs and Flouro
Don't do it!!! I can't tell you how many times I've had a tournament partner or buddy throw a frog with mono or fluoro 'in a pinch' because they weren't prepared. $$$$.$$ worth of lost fish later, they have all learned their lesson. I can't even imagine how many fish would be lost, missed, etc. tryi...

Re: TD-S "Greenie" original (circa 1997-98)
A couple years ago I bought a pair of the TD-S 7' crankbait/spinnerbait composite rods, NWT off ebay for like $125 shipped or something like that because I had used those rods in the past with success. One comparison of those rods to some newer crank rods I had made me quickly decide to forego the T...

Re: Broken Rod Streaks
Broke a Megabass Black Jungle Frog Rod on the hookset after fishing with it for only a few hours this past summer. First rod I've had break in years, which is kind of surprising considering my hookset and I fish a lot with braid in heavy cover a lot.

Wish they had some that were smaller than the monstrosities I've seen. Great idea, particularly for a saltwater rod!

Not sure if this qualifies, but a Manns Mid-1 has been pretty good for me over the years. Lots of color options and a reasonable price.

1/2oz buzzbait. Black Blade, black skirt. Couple different brands over the years. Don't throw it enough, but its definitely been a good big fish bait for me.

Bomber Square A 3/8oz. Small, inexpensive, and throw pretty decent on baitcasting gear.
